Yes On the calendar last day was supposed to be next week, but they stopped instruction last Friday and turned in their school issued laptops today.
They are supposed to start back a week earlier in the fall. Covid 19 and hurricane season will get the final vote though!

We were done 5/22, summer school (online) starts Monday and I'll be coaching during that. Also doing tons of online PD to prep for next year...whatever that looks like. ddly FIVE days of inservice. Yikes. I know lots of schools do that, and it's probably in your contract, but dang. I hope they make it as painless as possible. Interestingly, the governor announced yesterday Illinois can do in-person summer school groups under 10, 6ft distance. www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/ct-illinois-in-person-summer-school--20200604-6lrcidk6f5frzod7sjsdbpkefa-story.htmlI think maybe that MIGHT work for ESY or other students with special needs IF someone can get the kids to school. Not sure what to make of that, since almost everyone already made plans for remote summer school. We had a staff meeting today and our principal, who’s amazing, said we’d have lots of individual and team time. We usually have just one day but our four snow days we have to make up. I’m going to go in for 3 partial days and do the sped files for our incoming freshman. We have to attend 3 45 minute pop up sessions online in the first 3 days and the last 2 days we’re working with just our school. Not as bad as it could be, but I’m so done!

We've been out of school for a few weeks already. ND always finishes before Memorial Day weekend. So jealous!!

We finished the Thursday before Memorial Day, but since exams were cancelled, it was really the week before that. But DD had finished all her classes long before that!! It is going to be the longest summer ever.

School is out on June 19th but they turn their lap tops in on the 15th so not sure what schooling they will be doing for the last 4 days.
So far no yearbooks ...the yearbook company shut down due to a Covid and the schools haven’t heard when they will receive the yearbooks but most likely over the summer.

Dd 14 finished on Thursday. Dd11 finishes on Wednesday and is back on campus Monday for the end of the year. She’s so excited.
We just booked some local vacations because their summer camp got cancelled. I think they’d like it if school went a bit longer or if school went back earlier. They don’t go back until sept 9.

The last day for my daughter was June 2nd. The last day for most of her classmates seems to be March 13th! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/QHwhsjRqpWvxmZArdfBE.jpg) Seems like most of my students last day was March 13 as well. Sad but true. Still pisses me off that they got credit when they did nothing but their classmates busted ass to get stuff completed.

We are just about finished. Turning in books today. The school set up a drive through. We will hand them a bag of textbooks and they will hand us a bag of locker contents. The kids have til Monday I think to turn in anything still owed. God bless all you teachers! Wow, that's a lot of work for the staff to have to clean out lockers. I bet there were some unintended science projects in there from left behind lunches, etc.

Our school wrapped up last Thursday (5/28). The last week of e-learning for my kids was full of assessments. The 1st grader and the 5th grader just had 1 day where they did an assessment 1:1 with their teacher. She asked them questions about spelling, math, science. They had to demonstrate reading and comprehension skills. All in all it took no more than 1 hour each for their assessments.
My 3rd grader had a different assessment every day of the week. Tuesday was a live spelling test done in small groups. The spelling words were not words they had as spelling words throughout the year. They were sight words. We had to turn spell check off on our computer. Tuesday was also a writing assessment, where they had to write a formal letter to the 4th grade teachers next year. They had to introduce themselves, and then write 10 sentences about themselves. And then close and sign. Parents were not allowed to help. Wednesday was a very long comprehensive math test. Parents were not allowed to help. Thursday was a very long reading comprehension test. No parental help. My kid was fried by the time he was done.
Friday was our parade to celebrate our 5th grade graduates, and it was awesome!! So much fun. So excited for the kids to see their friends again (6 feet apart). They were so happy.
We normally do a little bit of school work each day to help prevent summer slide. Usually covering all subjects. We’re not doing that this year. We are reading everyday. I pinpointed which subject(s) my kids needed to work on so they have specific workbooks for those things. We’re taking a break from the rest of it because *I* am fried from months of e-learning with 3 kids at once plus a toddler. 🤣🤣🤣. We’re doing fun things all summer long.
The public schools had to go until yesterday. Allll the parents are fried and DONE. I can only imagine how the teachers are feeling at this point. I hope they have a very relaxing summer.

Yes! My high school senior graduated on Monday and my high school freshman was done like 10 days ago. My college freshman is still writing papers though - his last assignment is due this Thursday he said. I told him I would buy him a new phone to celebrate - so far he has had a 4.0 gpa....(he cracked the screen last summer which broke the camera which has been a pain because he has to take photos of assignments sometimes for remote learning!

4 more days! I need it to be over. My student engagement level has dropped off drastically since Memorial Day.

Don’t ask where he got it! 🤷🏻♀️😂
