When you vacuum, how often do you move furniture (ie., chairs, couches, end tables, nightstands) and vacuum under/behind them?

We have a dog that sheds like you wouldn't believe so when I cleaned my own house I did it every other time I vacuumed. But we also don't have a lot of clutter or unnecessary furniture so it wasn't a momentous task.

Maybe like a couple times a year. Probably should do it more.

I move the small stuff every 3-4 times I vacuum. The larger furniture, like our sectional... only a couple times a year.
I did both more when we had a large, very hairy dog. Now, we have a cat and a non-shedding dog, so it's not as big of a problem.

Almost never. We don't have pets in the house but my kids shed so I should probably do it once in a while. As it is I just use the crevice tool to get as far under/behind as I can.

I move the small stuff just about every time I vacuum. The big stuff once a year, maybe twice.

I move the coffee tables every time I vacuum, but that's only because you can see under them! Most other furniture, I don't move at all. If it's raised off the floor enough that I can stick the tool under it, then that suffices. Otherwise, I reckon the dust doesn't get under there...

Big furniture. Never unless it's being replaced with newer big furniture. I probably should, my two year old nephew likes to reach under my couch and pull out things I haven't seen in months.

First off, I vacuum what we call "the path" about every other day -- that's kind of a down-the-middle approach to the rooms we walk through all the time. I do a thorough vacuuming once a week that involves moving the light stuff (ottoman, rocker, a few occasional chairs, etc) as well as using the wand to reach under anything with legs. The big stuff gets moved twice a year, but usually one room at a time done as each room gets it's turn at a deep cleaning. I do have two pieces of furniture that are simply so massive they never get moved -- so we just ignore whatever's happening under them!

I don't - DH does though from time to time (say every couple of months or so).

Maybe once a year. Over the summer I deep clean one room a week.

Every time or every other time, depending on time constraints. I have 3 dogs.

If I have time, I try to do it every time. But at the very least, every other time. The dog hair is crazy if I don't!!

Probably not enough... I never move the bed and have been thinking about it since I will have some free time on my hands. I am going to do some DEEP cleaning once my job ends. So if you count that.. once this century! haha

I move the light stuff every time and the heavy stuff once a year just before having the carpets steam cleaned.

Every 3-4 months. I am especially feral about keeping under the bed clean because I hate the thought of piles of dust bunnies 2 feet away from us when we sleep. DH has minor dust allergies that can escalate if we don't clean it often enough.

When I have the carpet professionally cleaned (every other year if I'm lucky) or when we buy new furniture. Our current living room furniture is all Lazyboy with recliners and HEAVY metal frames because of the kick-out mechanics. I can't even budge any of them without help.
