Do you get freaked when you have to figure out where 7/16" or 3/8" is on your paper trimmer? I know I used to panic a little...LOL Hopefully I can put your fears at ease with today's Quick Tip video. Let me know if this helps.

Measuring to the 8ths is no problem and I make it so no project is so strict that I ever have to get into the 16ths.

Nice video, very well done.
It's appalling there is a need for this subject! Do you really have customers who don't understand how a ruler is divided? Or that 2/16 equals 1/8?

I have to say I needed a refresher when I started paper crafting after having kids. It's crazy how easy it is to forget some basic math when you haven't used it for years...or at least this is what happened to me.

I am ruler challenged to a certain degree. Doesn't make me dumb, just uninterested in retaining info like that. Thanks for the video!

scrapnatya, I' didn't say you were dumb. But I am surprised, in my past and present "counting the tick marks" is taught in primary school. The video is excellent and does a great job explaining the marks. OP I like it got to the point and didn't have extra chatter or even music. I don't know if this helps, but if you forget you can always count the lines. I have a friend who squints her eyes. Then she sees the longer- or fatter- lines dividing fourths and eighths.

When I was in college I worked in a fabric store. I am very familiar with 1/8, 1/4 and 1/16ths also.
