So, I was going through some bins in my garage and boy, did I find some oldies but goodies! Brand new SEI paper pack, the one with the cute fruits on it. Two packs of Chatterbox, several chatterbox kits, some KI papers and embellishments and a few pieces of Basic Grey. The Basic Grey is particularly awful to me, I can’t believe I ever used it! My mom wants that though, so at least someone who appreciates it will get it.
I am keeping most of the Chatterbox, mostly the 12 x 12 papers, the embellishments didn’t age too well, and the SEI and most of the KI. I do have some things that I will take to the thrift store, but I was stunned at what was out there. I had moved scrapbook areas (from one room in the house to another and then back again after about 2 years) a long time ago and this must have gotten taken to the garage during the move.
I also found one of those old rolling pop up paper holder things and numerous totes both wheeled and carry style back from the days of conventions and all day crops.
Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested and like to laugh at me for having such stuff stashed away for goodness knows how long!
Anyone else ever find goodies like that after a long time that are still worth keeping? I will admit I kept hoping I would find some Scrapworks, but maybe it is still out there...

I just went through that while cleaning out my scraproom and embellishment drawer organizer. I found a few things I may try to use again, but a ton of things I will be giving to a friend’s daughter. I did find some papers and embellishments from at least as far back as 2008 that I put to good use. I have more piles to go through, but it will be a while before I do.

I've been going through my house, first trying to declutter some and now to pack up to move.
I am finding all sorts of scrapbook stuff to get rid of (I may just try to sell it as a large lot on FB Marketplace). Much of it is SC stuff... 😂
I did get annoyed with my brother today. I am planning to stay with my parents for a while after I move. I need to sell my house, and I don't want to pay for expenses on two places at the same time. As a result, most of my stuff will need to go into storage. He told me it would be cheaper and easier to get rid of most stuff now, and then rebuy it new or "new to me" once I get settled. I don't think he realizes how much trouble and expense it would be to replace most of my scrapbooking stuff. Not to mention, there is no replacing furniture that had belonged to our grandparents. 😡
Just needed to vent a little.

A couple of weeks ago my husband cleaned a closet and found a huge bag of items. They were mostly horrid. I think they were gifted by well meaning family members. The thing is I can’t believe I even held onto them that long. And I’m embarrassed I didn’t even know they were there.

The last time we moved a few years ago, I found all my old Making Memories foam stamps. I had loved them so much when they 1st came out, and used them quite a bit, that I couldn't bare to get rid of them. Now they are stored away at my MIL's as I don't have a very large scrapbook space. But lord knows what else is out there! I've tried as we moved a few times over the years to get rid of stuff that I hadn't used, but there are some things I just can't get rid of.

There was a ton of hideous stuff I did get rid of, a lot of K and Co stuff that I I know I never used, way too pretty for me!

Not scrapbook stuff, but I have posted quite a few times about my efforts to organize my scrap room. I have only 4 more days until DS2 moves back into his room where I was staging everything, so I will end up moving what I haven't gotten to back into the scrap room.
Anyway, I found my original wedding rings in there! How and why they were in my scrap room I have no idea! I had taken them off years ago when I got too fat to wear them and replaced them. Then I had weight loss surgery and have been trying to find them in all the logical places.
Imagine my surprise when I pulled a ring box out of somewhere in that room and it was my rings! I am now wearing them again.

Storage rental fees can really add up. It also makes a difference if you will be storing for a few months or a year or more. Keep the scrapbooking supplies and furniture you love. Expensive pots & pans I would keep. Cheap plastic food storage? Get rid of it. Old wrapping paper? Don't pay to move or store it. Those are the type of decisions I would make. Good luck! It's a huge job.

"Out of sight, out of mind" is the absolute worst for me with my stamp and sb supplies! Geesh and I bought all this stuff at one point, but am seriously surprised by what I'm surprised I own when I go through my stuff!
Glad you found some good stuff in with it, at least....

Heck yes. Though not necessarily in the garage.
My Mom passed away in January and I've been going though her CRAP - an acronym for craft related assorted products. She had one bedroom stuffed with CRAP, even stuff in the garage and she wasn't a paper crafter. I've have found ribbon, zippers, beads, rick rack, buttons, seam binding, thread, and more. And of course not everything alike was in one place (I've found ribbon in as least 11 different places so far). Some of the rick rack still had the price tags on it - 7 cents - so you know how old it was. I kept some of her CRAP, but have given even more away. Three paper grocery bags of ribbon went to the library for kid's crafts projects. After I get rid of something I usually end up finding more of that same item. Haven't found all of her buttons yet, so who know what I will find there. And just yesterday we found more zippers and trims in the garage.

I wish I’d find treasures in my stash. All I ever find is the leftover ugly stuff from collections I bought. You know , the ‘I can make this work’ papers.
