Hey everyone! I don't have any plans for today - it's raining so that gives me no motivation - but my mum is coming over this evening ... ex took the grill so I bought a Curtis Stone grill pan to use on my stove ... my mum is bringing over steaks and we are going to try it out ... I've never grilled steaks on the stove before so I give myself a 50/50 chance of success I almost wish I hadn't invited her because the challenge seems daunting ... this is what I posted on Facebook today We'll also have baked potatoes and some sort of veggie What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a wonderful Sunday everyone

Today so far: Slept late, went for a walk mid-morning and only got a little bit wet. Church this afternoon and got quite wet, despite it only being 20 meters from the exit of the UBahn to the door of the church. Home now and watching the final football game of this weekend while DH puts the finishing touches on dinner.
Dinner will be Osso Bucco - it's been slow cooker since this morning and smells delicious - with spätzle. Not normal June dinner, but this is not normal June weather we're having.

I didn't post yesterday but trust me when I say that dinner was quite remarkable. And not in a good way. It was like I had never stepped foot in a kitchen before. I didn't burn the house down and I didn't suffer any serious injuries so that makes it a win in my book. But, today is another day and the self-appointed designated household shopper went shopping so I once again have vegetables! I will be making Korean pork chops and vegetables to serve over rice.

Good afternoon ladies. I'm doing laundry today and crocheting. That's my only plan. I'm exhausted from painting. So I'm all about taking a break. bc2ca I hope you are having a better day today. I hope that beach visit refreshed you yesterday. Third try tonight for the chipotle meatballs.

We just got back from a 3 mile pretty strenuous walk. It's beautiful out, in the 60's. Not sure what's for dinner. Maybe Teriyaki Chicken.

I make a vinaigrette with olive oil, lemon juice, white wine vinegar, garlic and some herbs. Done.

We had chipotle meatballs last week. It was a Home Chef meal. I was surprised how much I liked them. They were ground pork with a chipotle pesto and panko breadcrumbs mixed in and a tomato sauce and cotija cheese on top. Tonight we are having teriyaki shrimp burgers. First time trying them. www.facebook.com/GinasSkinnytaste/videos/1024129677984990/?vh=e

I did several loads of laundry and cleaned & organized the shelves above the washer and dryer. Then I made 6 cards for various events in June. As usual, the afternoon will be spent reading and watching TV.
I have peppers and hamburger that need to be used today, so stuffed peppers are on the menu tonight.
bc2ca, thinking of you today and hoping you are having a good day.
jeremysgirl, you should be taking it easy today. The house looks great.
leannec, today's meme is funny and so me!
Relaxing wishes going out to all of you today.

I missed a couple of days. How is scrapmaven doing? and bc2ca, I’m sorry you apparently had a bad day yesterday. I will find the thread and read up. It’s cooler here today, and I have chicken stock in the fridge, so dinner will be chicken noodle soup w/veggies. Trixie Bender, you always make me laugh, even when you’re having a bad day. jeremysgirl, I have a chicken pasta salad recipe I love.

I just made breakfast for dh and me - waffles and bacon- so I feel like I should be done cooking for the day 😂.
Our county finally got approved for phase 1.5 - they had to make a new category so we could start moving forward because we weren’t even close to phase 2 criteria (which was pretty stringent). Anyway, since restaurants can theoretically be at limited open now we would love to eat out (it’s been 3 months). But so far we haven’t found a place that’s open besides take out so dinner is TBD!

DH and I will have to hear what measures they will implement before we return ~ although we REALLY want to return! Phase 4 will be movie theaters ~ we have really missed our weekly matinee. Who knows how many movies will be released.

jeremysgirl , did you say that tmw's thread should be devoted to pasta salad? Well, that works for me. Gee, gang, I wonder what I'll be yakking about in tmw's thread. PolarGreen12 , MARCO...I envy you. A swimming pool sounds like heaven. At my PT facility when you're in the hot therapy pool the put this rubber stuff around you that makes you float on your back and then a pt aide gives you a full neck and shoulder massage while pushing you around the pool. Sigh. A girl can dream... lucyg , I'm transitioning from self-pity to gotta-make-the-best-of-it. I'm OK. Thank you for asking. bc2ca , I hope that you're enjoying a much nicer day, today. cadoodlebug , Everytime I go to an appointment dh and joke about slipping down the razor blade of life. That meme was great. Oh, I'm making ham casserole. I could bake cookies. Folks here are grumpy today and I think they need a chocolatey goodness pick-me-up. Other than that, I'm going to devote my afternoon to trying to almost finish my latest puzzle. This am we started half watching a movie while channel surfing and ended up watching the entire movie, Casino Royal from 2006. Enjoy the rest of your day, my lovely, wonderful tribe.

I lied about last night's dinner. We had steak, pork, and chicken kabobs with veggies. All the meats were differently seasoned - teriyaki chicken, garlic/ginger pork, etc. - and perfectly grilled. Ds, ddil, and dgd did a great job!
Tonight it's back to the mundane... leftover pizza!

Well last night we ended up with Domino's pizza as the restaurant we wanted to order from was super busy and stopped taking dinner orders by 5:30. Good for them and we will try again in a couple of weeks.
Tonight we are having steak, baked potatoes, garlic wine mushrooms with apple crisp for dessert. I also made some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. That and fussing around in my craft room is all I have done today.

Hi Everyone! leannec Great meme! Enjoy your time with your Mum. jeremysgirl You deserve a day of rest. Your house looks great! bc2ca I hope your day is much better. cadoodlebug Great meme! scrapmaven Enjoy resting. Today I am finally getting to paint a 3 tier wooden hanging shelf. But I am not going to hang it. It is going to sit on top of my desk to organize my paints, embossing powders and stamp pads. That will free up 3 cubbies in my wall unit. For dinner we are having London Broil steak, Fries, spinach and another vegetable.

I am having a much better day. I walked 8.5 miles and then called a much needed family meeting. We have a plan for a couple pressing items and I feel much less frustrated. DH has been taking care of dinner on Sundays (mostly) and when I arrived back from my walk both he & DS were working in the front and greeted me with "we're getting shrimp for dinner". They are definitely trying to get back in my good books because I'm the shrimp lover and his dinners usually revolve around big hunks of beef or lamb. After a shower I'm going to hit a couple more nurseries in my quest for purple heart and slipper plants.

We had Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions premade from the store where I did my curbside pickup. We also had a pasta salad from the same store, and while I was at it. I warmed up a piece of spinach pie that I picked up yesterday. It was just ok.

The girls came over to celebrate HD’s birthday a few days early. We grilled beef burgers, salmon burgers, chicken & brats. Also made fruit salad, baked beans, pasta salad and cucumber salad. Dd made rhubarb custard pie and I picked up mini Bundt cakes. Too much food.
Hope today is better @bc2ac. That walk was pretty long.

Dinner tonight was a pot roast done in the slow cooker. It was delicious - we had had a busy day and it was great to get home to dinner being ready.
