Love the choices!
We have 4 people in the house.
Currently DH is the only one leaving for work. He has a pack of disposable masks for site visits, a fabric mask at his desk, and one at home for when we go out. He currently does not need to wear one in the office but has one just in case.
I have two I use when I go out.
Each teen has one for now. They're both looking for jobs. I will make sure they have a few to use depending on where they find a job and if the job provides masks or if they need to have their own.

We have one per person but we hardly go anywhere. I think I've been inside some place less than 10 times since this all started and my kids have been in even less. So we still have plenty of time to wash them and reuse.

We're a family of four adults home right now. We have seven masks that I made -- if we feel like we need more, I'll make more. I do laundry of some sort every day, and any dirty masks go into it in a lingerie bag. Only DS is working outside the house, but he doesn't really need one while at work because they have so much distance between workers and all the windows and bay doors open for air circulation. I go out once or twice a week for shopping and wear one. We've been going to the beach once a week, and only wear one when we're within 20ish feet of someone and during the trip from the parking lot out onto the sand.
Every store that I've been in for the last few months requires a face covering. I haven't seen anybody not wearing one inside.

I just bought 3 more masks, which puts us at 3 per family.
But the newest masks are soooo much better than anything else we have that everyone is fighting over them, so I may need to order more.
they are the masks made by Norwex...comfortable, super lightweight, and much easier to breathe in.

Ideally everyone should have two so you can always have one clean. Initially when I was making them for people I provided 2 for each person but quickly had to go to one each to keep up. Now I'm winding down my mask making for awhile until they figure out what will be the requirements for schools.
I admit that I've made several for myself in different colors. I match them to my outfits on my infrequent outings. I think DH has 4 because the man can't keep up with anything!

Family of 4 - we each have 3 that I purchased from a lady making them on FB. But, DH got a few more from work and so did DS.

Dh and I have to wear them at work so we have quite a few for us. Oldest dd can wear one of our clean ones and for our youngest dd she has 2. She rarely is out of this house so she doesn’t need very many. I finally had to figure out an organizational system to keep track of the clean and dirty masks.
I am curious about the brave gowns masks. I see they have moisture wicking so does that make them more breathable? It is very humid in SD so wearing the masks is starting to become very uncomfortable.

4 people, over 24 masks. We learned to make them, plus bought some. Plus more on order because if my kids are going back to college in the fall they will need them. We are all diligent about wearing them every time we go out.

We are a family of 3 adults and have 2 each. They are hand sewn and I wash them after every use. Both DH and DS are working from home so we aren't going out very much at all but are still SIP in place.

I am highly masked at the moment. I live by myself and I think I own 12 fabric ones and a stack of disposable ones. I don't need that many but I had two friends make me masks at the beginning and then I bought a few different ones to try out, and then bought more of the ones I liked, and then found a cool one with roses and a cool one with galaxy print. I got my toenails done today and felt really good about my pretty rose mask.
It is good to have a bunch, though, because I don't need to do laundry all of the time.
I'm probably going to have to teach with a mask on so I figure I better get a bunch of cool ones for school. Also, I just like cool accessories.
My sister and her family (4 people) hardly ever leave the house. She bought a pack of 100 disposable ones and I bought each of them a fabric one. I don't know if they have any more fabric ones.

We each have 4. Painter masks, masks from a medical facility, hand made masks from a person sewing them, and long stretchy masks bought on the internet from another country.

We each have 3 washable cloth masks and a N95 (haven't worn the N95s), and we have a decent stack of paper masks. DH has one set of company issued gaiter and gloves he has to wear, so I hand wash them everyday when he gets home.

DD has one but she almost never goes anywhere. I have three because I made two initially but didn’t like how they crept up into my eyes so I made myself a third one the smaller size I adapted for DD because it fit me better. I made a bunch for DH because he needs them to wear at work every day, plus he leaves one in each vehicle. I need to make him a few more, but I’m interested in hearing more about the Norwex ones because he might find them to be more comfortable and less hot.

I have been working the whole time and masks are required when we move within the office or shop. I made myself 7 and use a fresh one every day. ODS is in food service and worked himself to the bone when all of his younger part time employees were pulled off the schedule by their parents. He has had 10 days off in total since March 16th. Next week is a week of hard earned vacation time for him. He has 5 masks that were provided by work and 4 that I sewed for him. YDS hasn’t really left the house until the last couple of weeks. He has 4 masks that I sewed for him. That’s been more than plenty for him.

We are a family of 6, 3 adults, an 11 year old, 14 year old and 18 month old. We have about 3 to 4 masks each. I have made over 400 masks, most all of them were given away.
The oldest two kids will not wear a mask unless it is mandatory, ie drs appt. DH always wears his mask when out in public. DD and I usually wear a mask when we go out. Masks are only required at doctor offices and testing facilities here.

By the end of the week, we'll have 12 washable masks between the two of us that we use daily for going to work (dh), walks (me), or when we go to any store.
I also bought a box of 50 disposable masks - for when I go back to commuting to work that I can toss when I get out of the train station.

I'm looking for comfortable options for them once school starts. I will report back once they try them.

We have 2 fabric masks each. I was so excited to buy them from a neighborhood vendor! I had everybody choose their own fabric designs so we'd be able to tell whose was whose... Turns out they don't fit DH at all (too small), and they are too big on my 6'+ DS. Another kid just prefers the paper ones. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/crazy.jpg.gif) I have a feeling the girls in the family will end up sharing the fabric masks, and the boys will all wear paper. Right now, we're all at home (NYC just began to open up today), so the most we're out is to buzz the dog around the block or grab a few groceries. If we all go back to school in Sept, I expect I'll get some more fabric masks so I don't have to do laundry all the time! In the meanwhile, my boxes of paper ones from Amazon will do for those who don't want fabric masks.

I think it would depend on how many people left the house and for what purpose and how long. For us, I chose 2 adult family, over 12.
DH works out of the house (in a nursing home), he goes swimming at the river once or twice a week, a contactless grocery pick up once a week, and that’s it save 2 or 3 other contactless pick-ups he has done since this whole thing started. I almost never leave otherwise we would have a lot more than we do. They are less effective when damp so he changes his during lunch, and his are only worn over his N95 masks (he has one of those for each day of the week.) We would need more if that was the only mask he wore since he wears it all but about 20 minutes of his 8.5 hour work day.
I also imagine the more you wash them the more the fibers thin out, making them less effective. However, I haven’t seen any studies on that.

I think it's hard to lump the whole family together and give a number. We're required to wear them in our state when in public.
dh, ds and I have one fabric mask each. Other ds and our 2 dd's both have several. The ones with several work in public all day long.
I also bought a small box of cheap disposable ones...for things like keeping an extra in your car in case you forget your mask or for hair cuts/colors.

My best friend has been making very comfortable pleated masks with a filter pocket. She charges $10 a mask and donates the money to our local food bank. We each have at least 5. I bought a UVC sanitizer light so we put them in there each time we come home after using them. Then they also get washed every now and then. They are typically not worn for more than 10 minutes at a time.
DH needs one for work to go in and out of the buildings. But he is in his own office and only has to go in every other week. Yesterday was my first time in a grocery store in 12 weeks. We have been doing delivery or farmers’ markets for all food.
My son’s college had already said they will be masked during classes so I will get him some more so he has a big rotation since I doubt he will wash things as often.

I made several for each of us, (I’d say 4, I don’t remember really). But they aren’t required here except in dr offices. I don’t have to wear one at work (very spacious office), and I wear one at the grocery store if it’s busy. It’s just not community bad here.

I personally have gone through 4 a day. If I don't do wash right away, I need another 4 for another day. I have made myself 6 but will make more. Hubby has one but needs more. I have fun making them. I am making 6 this morning to give away. Some people know I am making them; some will get them as a surprise. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

We are four (yay - my son is finally home!). He has 2, my DD who is health compromised and does not go out has 2 just in case, her partner has 10 because her mom sent her them and I have 6. I made myself 2, then I ordered 4 Swiss ones (SO SO SO cute), but they are too small for my son and too big for my DD, so I got them all!! Hah. I would think if you go out a few times a week you'd need at least 3.

We are currently 4 adults, and soon to be 5 once DD's boyfriend is done working and moves back this way.
We have handmade cloth ones, and we wash them as soon as we are done wearing one out, and hang it to dry. I think I have about 7 or 8 we circulate through.
