I have one of the original Misti's. When she was making them in her home. I regretted the purchase as soon as I got it and saw the Bible verse. And then her behavior and attitude just leaves a poor taste in my mouth over the whole thing. I'm sorry you got surprised by that. Nobody should use their business to force-feed their religion to others. It's tacky, inappropriate and does the opposite of what it's intended to do. Even if I hadn't been aware of the MANY design and material flaws her product had and if it'd be more reasonably priced, I still wouldn't have picked it up because of the religious branding.

I recently bought the Tim Holtz/Tonic platform from this UK seller, shipping was only $9.99 to the US. Looks like it's out of stock again, but should be back in stock soon. Here is the link: CraftStash

Here is the link: CraftStashI have bought from Craft Stash in the past. It’s a good place to buy things that aren’t sold in the US. Although the post title is asking for what is the favorite stamp press, it looks like the O.P. amended her post to underline the importance of a more budget friendly option. The good stamp platforms that most of us use can be a bit expensive, even with a coupon. That is the unfortunate reality. However, there do appear to be more choices on Amazon than I expected. I have no idea how good they are. At least one says it’s a stamp platform, but it looks like a piece of plastic with a grid (no hinges). Another looks like a knock off from China, but there seem to be some options on Amazon that I had not seen before.

I first had the WRMK one, but the paper shifted too much unless I put it right up in the corner. I love the Tim Holtz one. Wish I had bought it first.

I don't have any suggestions for you, really. I bought the Hampton Arts one when it was available and it changed my stamping life and I have been a stamper for over 40 years! Mines small though, so I'd like the SU one.

I am so glad this thread came back up. I just purchased this one from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TP844VN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I really like it (I already own more of these than any human should; I have the Hampton Arts copy of the Misti, both sizes of the Tim Holtz platform, the WeRMemoryKeepers press, the Stamparatus, and a few others I put together myself from picture frames and plexiglass). Gotta say, the Biro works really well. It isn't hinged - it's held together with magnets, but it comes together in such a way that it stamps in exactly the same place every time. I tried it with a clear stamp and stamped like 6 times over and over and never got any kind of shadowing or offset lines. And that was holding it just on my lap and not even using a table. The magnets have a really cool enclosure that makes them easy to pick up and pull apart if they stick together. It doesn't have a frame all around, so you can stamp on a larger sheet of paper. The only thing I didn't like was that it doesn't have a solid corner to butt your cardstock into. I put a piece of Sizzix Sticky Sheet on the base, and that kept the paper from moving. I tried it with a 6x6 background stamp and got an excellent impression - it looked to me almost like there was no space between the stamp and the paper before I pressed down, but it didn't mess up the stamped image at all. It's definitely less expensive than the others that are available in the US, and I have to say that if I didn't have the others, I think I could be quite happy with only this one.
