Hello everyone, I just saw this video with a great new way to make your gate fold cards close. I'm not big fan of the band because it always too tight or too loose. youtu.be/h0DYGpadAmY

I love this idea. I’m just not sure the recipient would know how to open it. There would need to be instructions maybe? Or a tag that says “Slide this off”?

I'm going to play with this this weekend. azcrafty here is what I made! Kind of a steampunk/vintage card for my DH who loves both old stuff and cutting edge electronics, lol. The only trouble I had/slight issue was the gap in the front of the card. With gatefolds, I am used to being very precise with the fold and getting the edges just perfectly fitted. With this, you need to have that little gap. I had to trim the edges of my card flaps and I trimmed ever so slightly too much. But not enough to ruin the card.

I love this idea. I’m just not sure the recipient would know how to open it. There would need to be instructions maybe? Or a tag that says “Slide this off”? I wondered about this, too.

And thanks for the tip about be fold. I am usually not very precise, but with a new design I tend to measure, so will have to remember this.
