Hi guys,
This is my first post on the new forum. Nice to see everyone!
My dd is learning sewing from a friend, who offered to teach her for free. She's made a skirt, and is almost finished with a dress. I am also wanting to learn to sew, and I want my dd to continue learning. I hate to take advantage of my friend by expecting her to continue the lessons forever. So I'm looking for a place to get free lessons online.
I can google and search youtube, but if anyone has a site or a youtube channel they recommend to learn sewing and alterations, please let me know.
Thanks!

I recommend classes from Craftsy. They aren't free but the cost is minimal in terms of what you will learn and they are from good teachers.

Thanks. I did see that site. I'm hoping for free, but we'll see what I find.

We had a local quilting store that offered sewing classes. Last summer they even did a summer camp where they taught the girls (that was all that registered) how to sew, then sewed a dress. They were doing a "fashion show" and I just happened to be there that day...they were adorable.
Maybe you have a place like that somewhere near by you? You could call the smaller, locally owned stores and see if they have any who does classes.

Professor Pincushion is very good. Lots of free lessons, and you can sign up for individual months for the others.
