I LOVE neutrals!!!! Also graph paper, lined paper, ledger paper, wood grains (esp. lighter). So, I thought I would start a thread by theme - in this case Neutrals. Some of my gotos are Simple Stories Basics And this video by Inkie Quill is very me (except size) If you have some neutrals you love, please post! And if you like other themes, it might be fun to have some themed threads so we can go back and find stuff.

I LOVE wood paper. It works so perfectly for my historical places photos. I have also used it for new house photos, the beach, etc. It just looks amazing whenever I use it.
But I don't have any neutrals I love to share. Thanks for posting this!

Remember the old SC grid/neuttral papers they had back in the day? I loved them. I have one 6x6 paper pad left and I am hoarding it.

I love neutrals for my base. It's so easy to add embellishments or layered patterned paper. I am trying to not use too much wood grain paper in my albums, to keep it fresh.

I like using neutrals sometimes, but when I do, I need to add a punch of color. Just a little. Or at least some black.
For me, an all neutral page feels like it's missing something.

I am always on the hunt for what I call "patterned neutrals." Graph paper, ledger paper, lined school-ish paper are all great. Simple Stories had a cream paper with tiny clustered dots in their We Are Family line We Are Family Cream Calico/Linen that I absolutely love. I was in a scrapbook store one day and they'd found an old stash of it. I bought every sheet.

I love using neutrals for my backgrounds. It's more for the eye than just plain colored cardstock, but not overwhelming. I love wood grains, even in colors. I sure would love to see more gray B sides.

I love wood grain paper. I use it a lot. One of my favorite Disney pages I've done was about Chip & Dale and I used wood grain on that. I like all different shades of wood, too.
I am also a real fan of gray.
I have a bag of paper that have patterns like the Snap Basics. I haven't dug those out in a while. I'm going to have to do that this week. I used to love the notebook paper look.

I m more into colors but when I do use a neutral white is my go to. I use a lot of pastels and cool colors so it works well for me. When I use warmer colors I go with a cream of eggshell as a neutral. Sometimes I’ll use a neutral as a base but more often as a layer or a frame.

I love those SS basic papers, @zingermack. Perfect for masculine, camping, outdoor, farm related pages. I use the woodgrains for matting, torn inked edges, sometimes cutting into strips like boards. Sometimes the mat takes up most of the page... And I love the grid and ledger paper for journaling. For backgrounds, I tend to use cardstock in whatever colour supports the theme--or doesn't detract from it. Have been using alot of navy lately, but also use white, cream, black, quite a bit, and sometimes green. In the fall, I am more likely to use browns and copper, and oranges.

I typically have a hard time using warm tones, so things like brown, cream and a lot of woodgrains don't work for me. My preference is always white/black for neutrals. I'm not a big fan of gray as a neutral either. I wish I didn't make it so hard for myself.

The shop has announced its closure, so I wouldn't wait too long if you wanted to purchase. I'm not affiliated, but have ordered from there recently.

My favorite pack of wood grain papers has to be the ones from Moda Scrap. They’re an Italian company, IIRC. I can’t remember where I got the paper pack from, but I’m almost out and I need to figure out a place to buy it again!

Once in a while I try to go outside my zone, but often, I end up starting over. For example, I have a hard time placing photos at an angle. I tried yesterday and redid it.

I adore graph papers, grid papers, dotted grids, ledgers just love them, so versatile. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one I don’t like.
Wood grains I’m more picky with. First off I don’t like crappy wood grains that aren’t realistically possible. Also some of them just look weird to me. But when I like a wood grain I love it.
Neutral colors - well half my stash is white, off white, black, brown, tan, beige & gray. My most used ink is a medium gray.

Since this is a theme thread...
For some reason I use neutrals a lot more when I'm doing heritage pages. If anyone remembers Becky Higgins Project Life Heritage kit, that's the type I gravitate towards. I also have a Studio Calico (I think?) 6x6 pad of neutrals.
So tans, black, and more on the distressed side.

sleepingbooty made me aware of the awesome scrapbook.com sticker books on the Mega Holiday thread. I went to go check them out and can't wait to buy. But they also had this one that would work well for neutral lovers, in case people want to see/buy.
