My mom sends me a grocery list and I enter it at Walmart grocery. The last several times she has asked for Grandma's Frozen Egg Noodles. For awhile, they were always out of stock, but now I'm not fining them at all. However, they do have Reames® Homestyle Egg Noodles. Has anyone eaten these noodles? Any feedback on them? Are they similar to Grandma's? The photo on the pack looks like they might be a bit mushier than Grandma's. Hate to buy them and she not like them and just toss the whole bag. TIA

I use them all the time. My family likes them. I like the texture. I don't think they are mushy. However, if your mother is very loyal to Grandma's, she may not like them. (I don't know that I have ever had Grandma's, so I don't know how they compare). Have you asked your mom if she would be willing to try the Reames noodles?

My DD uses them in a chicken & noodles recipe. They cook up very thick and doughy. They soak up a lot of liquid! Her family Loves them. My DH won’t eat them. He only likes thin noodles. I like, but not love them.

Are they already cooked or are they raw and then cook up faster? I'm intrigued. My dad loved pasta and I purchased a pasta machine for him for Christmas one year. I can tell you, his homemade pasta was the best I had ever tasted. I did buy a pasta machine, used from a yard sale, for myself, but ended up selling it at my own yard sale because I was just too busy to use it. In retrospect, I wish I had hung onto it because I have the time to try it now.

I use them for PW's chicken and noodles. They come out just fine.

I love them. They are almost more like a dumpling.

We like the Reames noodles for chicken & noodles (don't think we have Grandma's brand around here, at least I've not seen it). I will say, we once had the dumplings variety (same brand but they were bigger/square) and I didn't like them as much.

I use them because of the Pioneer Woman chicken and noodles recipe. My kids don't like any other noodles in their chicken noodle soup and, of course, no other noodles are like Reames. I had never heard of them up until about 5 years ago.

I use them in my chicken noodle soup over dried egg noodles. They are thicker and have a bit of a bite to them vs being mushy. They are even better the second day...

I haven't used the Grandma's brand, but I do use Reames and like them. Not mushy at all. They are a very close second to my grandma's homemade egg noodles. I've made the PW recipe that others mentioned and I also use them for IP chicken noodle soup. To me they really add a "homemade" touch to the soup.

Why would you or what would you use these in??? I have never eaten frozen noodles Some people just eat a bowl of noodles, other add shredded or chunks of chicken and some people like to saute beef stew meat to add to them. We grew up on homemade chicken and noodles and is a favorite of my extended family at holiday gatherings like Thanksgiving. Grandma's are pretty close to homemade.

These types of noodles are more doughy than a packaged noodle or those that you use with a pasta machine.

Thanks for all the replies. I did ask her about trying them and she was all for it. Its just at almost 90 years old, her palate is semi picky and just didn't want to waste a whole bag of them as the bag is 24 oz, so lots of noodles. I do grocery pick up tomorrow, so we will see shortly what she thinks.

I love Reames. I've never had Grandma's though. With Reames you need to add them right before serving.

Never had Grandma’s brand but made a beef and noodles recipe last winter with Reames and no complaints here. I agree that they are a little thicker homemade style but they were delicious in our dinner.

If you have the Walmart App on your phone, you can search for them and it will tell you what isle to find them. Mine says A16, but I'm sure every store has a bit different layout. I love the product locator. At least it points me in the right direction to find something I might be looking for. Not 100% accurate, but more so than not.

Learn something new from the Peas every day. Today it was frozen noodles. And my grocery store carries the Reames brand.

They stopped carrying the Reames at our closest Walmart. We bought the Grandma's and I didn't like them as well. I use them in the Pioneer Woman's Chicken and Noodles. I think I used just plain old dried egg noodles last time I made it because I just didn't care for them.

They are good mixed with country gravy (I use the powdered packet, mix with water). The kind used for biscuits and gravy. Good fattening comfort food.

I think they are just awful. But I am a homemade noodle person, and they are very different from that. My kids really hated them.
