I went today, it’s been 2 weeks and I walked in and the whole store seemed low on inventory. Same with the craft section. Absolutely nothing new. And it was messier than ever.
I asked the gentleman working (he’s always there, but not super talkative) and he said they got a truck with 60 boxes and haven’t been able to unload them, only 2 employees are working at a time.
Clearly it’s just too much for 2 employees to keep up with it.

I feel so left out! I don't have one anywhere near me.

Clearly it’s just too much for 2 employees to keep up with it. That's what mine said too, they said there is tons of boxes to unpack, etc...but they just can't get it out. He said they will wait until some of the other stuff gets sold before putting out new stuff. I suggested they put craft items in carts like they have in the past, because that is part of the issue, if people think there isn't anything new out, and it is just the same old stuff they won't bother coming in.

I went to both of mine yesterday. All of the craft tags still say 0420, so it is still preCovid inventory. This last truck had almost 200 boxes, but the guy who unpacked said there was almost nothing in crafts other than a few clear stamp sets. He said that they got everything but crafts. Some of the aisles are still pretty darn picked over though. I am sure in a month or Sao, they will be back to somewhat normal.
One of my stores only has two people working and it takes them days to get out their inventory. If they would put the craft stuff in a basket in the aisle, crafters would put it on the pegs for them. One of the managers says he gets those carts out fast because people pick through it and in a few days most of it is gone through and they don't have to shelve it themselves.

I loved doing that...I felt like I got to look at the stuff and I was helping! Edited to add I would have loved to catch any of the people who just strew stuff around, I swear they'd get an earful from me.

Slightly off topic - Our Marshalls opened about a month ago. We went and they had some great deals. I went yesterday and the store was bare - things rearranged to fill space. I asked the cashier if they were closing and he said they are just now starting to get shipments in. I think the supply chain was halted and now has to come back up to speed. And on topic - I don't have a Tuesday Morning near, but I visit one often when I visit my mom. But that one just closed - it's so sad. I so enjoy a good shopping day at TM. There is one 2 hours the other direction near where my daughter went to college, but she graduated in December so we don't have much need to go there anymore I love reading about what other people are finding - treasure envy.

Yes, the mangers at both of TM say that their buyers stopped purchasing for a while. One told me that he was told by August they should be back to normal. I guess it is to be expected.

I just wonder where their supply chain will go now. Maybe there will be a Wednesday Afternoon.

I am so sad that my local Tuesday Morning just put signs up last night announcing they are closing. It was such a nice, well stocked and managed store. I'm really going to miss it.

Yesterday (the last day of July ), I stopped by the one remaining TM in my area that isn't in the process of closing. The craft area was still sparse and they had moved quite a bit of it to clearance. There were a few new items with "0720" price tags on them. Of those, what I noticed were Jen Hadfield project pads, 1Canoe2 project pads (I only saw Willow) and the large 12 x 12 multicolor packs of Bazzil. They also had many albums; I think they were mostly K & Co postbound. I only swept my eyes over them briefly.

Next round of store closings listed on the company website here. Thanks for posting that. This is one lottery I don't want to win. We are losing one store, but not on my side of town anyway. It was pretty empty shopper-wise when I went in there on a Sunday afternoon. There store was huge and tidy, but no shoppers. This was pre-Covid. I am not surprised it is closing.
