Hi everyone! I am definitely on a mini album kick! LOL! I have made them using glue and staples are the binders and now Heidi Swapp shared another way. When I saw her make this album on Scrapbook dot com and I just loved it. She used a set of boxed cards and boy was it a time saver. For her binder, she used her tape runner! So now I have another option when I make these little treasures. In my new video tutorial, I shared her technique and how I made my mini albums using a set of boxed cards and patterned paper. Link HereThe album with the bow was made with the boxed cards. The "Seal Beach" album with the flower was made with patterned paper. Boxed Card Mini Album by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr I have some inside look pictures in the gallery and in the video. Also, all the pictures are posted on my blog: Link HereHave you all ever made a mini album like this? What's your favorite type of album to make?

Loved the video, kellyr21 . I don’t really scrapbook anymore, so I am always looking for ways to use my scrapbook paper in other projects. I really like this mini album. So cute. How do you cut your chipboard for the covers? It is so darn thick I struggle to cut it straight. Any tips? TFS

Restless Spirit Thanks for watching this fun project. The chipboard I used was the shipping kind that came with my 12x12 scrapbook paper order. So it was firm but somewhat pliable. Not super thick or hard. When I cut it with my paper trimmer, I pressed firmly on the bar so the chipboard wouldn't move. Then, I went slow. If your blade isn't sharp you may have to pass over it twice or more. You can also use any other firm weight paper product. It could be from UPS, USPS, FEDEX, or any other shipping packaging. If you are like me, you have a lot of it sitting around from all the online shopping I've been doing. Lol! I hope this helps.

Cute albums, kellyr21. Thanks for using both boxed cards and scrapbook paper. I love having an alternative since I don't have boxed cards. Your tutorial was great.

kellyr21 You need a corner to ease your assembly. I use my Scor-Board, but before I used a cereal box, just cut off 2 sides and the front or back.

Ah yes - the great cardboard stash. I’ll look for some that might be a lighter weight. I bought this Graphix medium weight chipboard years ago but have used very little because it’s so thick. (Or I just have wimpy paper cutters and I’m weak. Ha) I hope you can find something at home and give this album a try. Thanks again for watching! Cute albums, kellyr21. Thanks for using both boxed cards and scrapbook paper. I love having an alternative since I don't have boxed cards. Your tutorial was great. Thanks nylene! It was fun to try both ways and the boxed cards was a fun alternative and less work. I want to make more of these now. LOL! kellyr21 You need a corner to ease your assembly. don, that's a great idea. I have a score board and never thought to push everything into the corner to get the corners square when gluing 2 pieces together. Thanks for sharing. A cereal box would work too, but I buy my cereal in bags..LOL!
