I put myself in the refrigerator at the beginning of the year. We moved and it really highlighted how many supplies I have. And the bigger problem is that I am not creating enough to even use a small amount of what I was buying. So, I decided that I needed to really pull back in the buying. I didn't set a specific guideline, just that I needed to really think before making purchases. It has worked really well for me! I have plenty of supplies to still create, but am able to buy special supplies here and there so that I don't feel completely "deprived". I actually added up my amounts spent a few weeks ago...$138 for the entire year! I think that has to be a record for me. So, I plan to continue sticking with the refrigerated mindset through next year, too.

Sigh, so hard.

Sigh, so hard. Hang in there! It has definitely gotten easier as I have stuck with it. Just like any new habit, it takes a little time. I still find myself picking up things in Target (evil dollar spot!) and other places...but now I stop and assess whether I *really* want/need it. Usually, I end up putting it back. One of the items I splurged on was the Heidi Swapp PL supplies. Usually, I would get caught up in the hype, rush out, and buy way more than I need. This time, I waited a few weeks to see if my level of "want" was still high, before choosing the couple of items that I really wanted. And let's be honest....2peas closing has also made it easier. The "buy before it sells out" and "must get free shipping" led to lots of impulse shopping.

It is soo hard. I haven't bought any scrapbook supplies yet, but I bought yarn for mittens to DS. Bit it doesn't count, I hope, because he asked if I could knit him a pair.

I did break down and buy 2 things I was waiting on to come in stock at ACOT - but I only bought those so it was around $12 with shipping. I have bought some adhesive... But I am not counting that as I don't have a huge stockpile so will have to buy that. I may end up buying a DD album but think I will wait and see 1) if I stick to it and 2) if it is too thick to fit in a SS album I already have. I have made a few layouts and have been trying to clean out/ organize my scrap area. So much stuff gets put in there that is not really scrapbook related and it is starting to drive me a little crazy!!! I also get annoyed by the little bits and pieces of stuff...I have organizers but they just add up! Anyways, how is everyone else doing?

Trying to finish my 2013 December Daily, and I'm feeling the urge to shop for newer supplies. So far, I've managed to stay in the fridge, but it was close.

I have only purchased one piece of paper, while I was at a crop and didn't have the color I wanted. Still too early for me to tell whether I can remain in the fridge, but I'm hopeful and trying to be mindful!

Is there room in the fridge for me? I jus returned from a 4 day crop, where I scrapped, shopped and sold some older supplies. I have enough adhesive, albums, pictures and paper for many, many pages. My youngest DD will be studying in Italy next semester, and guess who bought a plane ticket last night???
Truly, I should be in the freezer, not the fridge. I will need support to ignore the Basic Grey warehouse box, and any other boxes that come along!!!

Truly, I should be in the freezer, not the fridge. I've been in the freezer for almost 3 years! I'm ready to thaw out a bit and come join you all in the fridge. My scrap stuff will finally be coming out of storage in December, so all my old stuff is going to be brand new to me again. I'm sure I might want to buy a couple of new goodies, but for the most part I think I'll probably be content playing with my new old stuff for awhile.

I am joining you. The last remaining LSS closed, and while there is still a stamp store, and in the opposite direction, a paper arts store, and big box stores, none are particularly close, and their products are limited. However, I did a lot of panic buying once the LSS announced they would be closing. Then Tuesday Morning had a ton of paper packs from manufacturers that I like right around the same time that the LSS was having their going-out-of-business sales. I definitely overbought there, too, but I knew it would be short lived, and it was. I'm not as interested in embellishments. I prefer to make my own. My weakness is (and has always been) patterned paper.
I had everything organized earlier in the year, but my panic buying spree undid it all, so I have been trying to get it all organized in the last couple of weeks. It's overwhelming. It is definitely time to go into the refrigerator. I should go into the freezer, but I will allow myself to buy adhesive and possibly one or two small things here or there. Honestly, though, after seeing how much I have, and realizing how much money I have spent, my desire to shop has dwindled to near non-existent.
It's time to use what I have and stop buying. I have company coming for the holidays, so I won't have time to scrap or shop (even if I want to), but in January, I really hope to start scrapping a lot more solely from my now enormous stash.

I fell out of the fridge! *hang head in shame*. I found white bazzill canvas, which has been unavailable here for months, and, well, I ordered 5 packs! Climbing back into the fridge now.

@scrapnana - I am with you on the desire to shop. Mine has dwindled as well since I have so much and I really do love what I have! I went in Tues Morning with my kids to get them a prize for being so good at the doctor (flu shots) and I almost bought a spellbinders die but decided against it as I can cut it with my cameo. I am also selling some items on ebay and my etsy shop. It feels good to sell and not buy!

I have a 3-month Cocoa Daisy sub that I pre-paid for. I started this month and really like what I've gotten. So I have two more months and I'll probably end up buying a few extra things to go with the kits. But, seriously, other than that I am FROZEN! Need . . . to . . . stay . . . strong! (Hopefully OA won't come out with those new lines they're been promising for oh, like two years now!)

I'm in! I went digging through my stash to find papers for my Week in the Life Album, and realized how much I had forgotten about. And I've been following Jennifer Wilson's Facebook group on managing/simplifying through the holiday season, so I've already identified the projects I'll be working on through the end of the year. For me it's as much about space as $$ - don't want to expand the storage any more, and want a better ratio of completed projects vs supplies.
So for me - nothing but photo printing til Dec 31, and no more paper until I have 1) organized what I have and 2) finished at least the four projects currently on the top of my list (WITL, DD 2013 and 2014, and 30 days of gratitude.)
