Yeah, it stinks you don’t get the good drugs. The honeymoon period will be over tomorrow.
Although Lap surgery isn’t that bad, the pain from the air they put in you so they can see causes some intense pain sometimes.
Get some rest. General anesthesia also has to be recovered from.

Thanks all. I feel good this morning. Sore, but less like I’ve been hit by a truck. Hoping to go home today.

Get well soon! And welcome to the I Can Now Wear White Pants Anytime Club. The first thing I’m going to do when I get home is throw away my giant overnight pads and leakproof period panties because even those giant pads would overflow. TMI warning: My surgeon was just in to check on me and told me that I had a six centimeter fibroid in the back of my uterus and two smaller ones in front. My uterus weighed 360 grams, which is apparently more than 4 times the normal weight. So I lost a little weight. 😂 She’s going to bring pictures to show me in the morning. This was me too. The large fibroid was the size of a grapefruit and then I had 2 smaller ones. Plus endometriosis, so they left me one ovary so I would not go through menopause at 36. Take care and take it easy! There will be some days with pain that you wonder if it was worth it, trust me, it is! One day at a time and you will be back to your old self in no time. Best thing is NEVER having a period again.

Yikes! One wonders why the female body is designed to malfunction so badly like that for so many women. How on earth did women deal with this before the days of modern medicine? I’ve been having periods since I was 11, so after 36 years I’m more than ready to be done with them!

Congratulations and best wishes for a quick recovery!
I had a TVH four years ago after a lifetime of cysts, fibroids and severe pain and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. No more agonizing pain!

Good thoughts for an easy recovery. I’m a little jealous— I would love to get a hysterectomy but my gyn kept encouraging me to wait a little longer and now she left the area and finding a new gyn Is difficult in my rural area.

I’m a little jealous— I would love to get a hysterectomy but my gyn kept encouraging me to wait a little longer and now she left the area and finding a new gyn Is difficult in my rural area. It took over a year of trying various other methods to control my heavy bleeding and pain before my gyn would consent to refer me to a surgeon. And then the surgeon, after seeing my history and most recent ultrasound, was like, damn, girl, why did you wait so long? I'm having some pain and nausea right now but I know it will all be worth it in the end.
