I messaged Paige Evans when I realized her collection didn’t say pink Paislee and she said they weren’t releasing anymore collections. she is now directly under American Crafts. I am heartbroken about PP. Indigo and Ivy and Auburn Lane were two of my favorites last year. I bought doubles of each item in the collection. AC is making crappy decisions!!

I’m probably in the minority but the PP collections that werent’t Paige’s were my fav. So fresh and modern. Same for me. Paige's floral designs don't appeal to me. I loved Auburn Lane, 5th and Monaco, Fancy Free, and C'est La Vie.

If I were to pick anything to get rid of, my choices would not be what they've chosen. My choices would be to drop Maggie Holmes, Dear Lizzie and Amy Tangerine. I am so over all of them! AC really needs to look at some of the great You Tubers out there like Adele Toomey aka Inkie Quill, Suse Fish and Missy Whidden. Now these are artists whose collections I would buy in full. I cringe every time the MH, AT and DL products are in my Hip Kit. Time for NEW designers!! OMG YES. They get rid of interesting designs and keep the same old same old ladies.

DAMASK LOVE is a new favorite of mine. The GIRL POWER line is colorful, modern and most important to me — MULTICULTURAL. It’s one of the few lines that I am purchasing every piece of (maybe even the washi that I have sworn off buying). It’s on sale at JOANN and I’m in “hoard mode”. Wrong thread, methinks. I responded about Damask Love because someone posted earlier in this thread that they never heard of it. I was giving my description of their new line. I think I need to stay off this board for a while.

I cringe every time the MH, AT and DL products are in my Hip Kit. Time for NEW designers!! OMG YES. They get rid of interesting designs and keep the same old same old ladies. There is only one collection from AT that I fell head over heels over and that was Plus One. It was the only collection of hers I bought out of love for it and not out of the bargain (and later ended up never touching...one paper pad that M's had out of the blue last year or the year before I ended up tearing down and giving all but a few sheets to my kids). I did, however, LOVE the jewel tones in the collection that recently showed up at TM. I didn't get the ephemera or much else to go with it, though, because it was mostly random food and other icons that I felt were unusable...the paper, however, was mostly very pretty. They really missed the mark with the stupid embellishments in that line. I bought the paper hoping to mix it in with some of my fall stash or hopefully curate some embellishments that do coordinate that don't suck from things I already own. She could easily have some themes that fit her lifestyle that customers could relate to in regards to travel, work, family, etc...I'm sure neon zoo animals is not representative of anyone's lifestyle.
Dear Lizzie and Maggie Holmes have never appealed to me, either. I have a few bits and pieces that I like, but by and large, it also goes untouched.
The reality is, I think the members of this board might be the minority...there are just so many people out there that will buy stuff just because it has a certain person's name attached to it and the influencer way of life of these 3 means they have a following that probably makes them more appealing to AC because of their larger audience than say...Shimelle, who doesn't use her social media to whore out products for anyone that will pay her and actually uses it for *gasp* scrapbooking related posts. Between sales and reach, I feel like that's probably the biggest determining factor. Actually having an interest in what you are slinging doesn't matter anymore.
I guess I'll have to be happy that Paige is still there because she does scrapbook. She doesn't scrapbook in ANY WAY that I will EVER spend the time doing, but her work is lovely and she's definitely proud of her products versus just using it for an income and nothing else.

The reality is, I think the members of this board might be the minority...I'm starting to think so, too. But the question remains how many people slip away from this craft because the products that get pushed ahead by AC (all with now an extremely similar look and feel) don't appeal to them. The craft had a renewed interest in 2013-2014 but the numbers of scrapbookers seems to have gone downhill again, as though the freshly acquired/returning documenters didn't translate into longterm active crafters for a significant percentage of those. AC is participating in this erosion because of the extreme similarity in their offer. Paige Evans, Dear Lizzy, Amy Tan, Pebbles and now Damask Love all have that cutesy, doodly, childish floral vibe. I don't mind that being part of the offer but there is no brand left under their umbrella catering to a more clean, modern, adult aesthetic. I find it hard to believe there aren't more scrapbookers interested in this design style. AC just keeps pushing them away.

Once more for the seats in the back of the house (and any intelligent manufacturers looking to fill a neglected money-ready customer segment).
