What is the most you have ever purchased in groceries?

Well, what did you spend?

I think the most I have spent is $600.00. And that would be about a month's worth.

I spent about $700 the last time I hosted Thanksgiving. It was for 10 people. That includes wine. 😬

I’d say I’ve spent around $750 a few times, back when the kids were teens. That would be holiday meals and teen snacks. We would always have a house full of teens, especially during school breaks because we had a rule that a parent had to be home. So that was usually me, at our house. Now that the kids are grown, they all remark on how they loved to come to our house and get fed. 🥰

Certainly more than $217! That’s about two weeks worth for my household.

I think around $750, at Costco.  In my defense, I have six kids, including two teenagers and a pair of ten-year-old twins who are built like wires but eat more than I do.

$600 at Costco. I can’t get out of that place without spending $400.

We usually keep a couple of months of essentials, canned goods and etc especially in the winter because of weather in our area.

But growing up my parents routinely had storage and kept 1 years worth of non perishable food and either a half or whole cut of meat in the freezer storage. I remember it coming every year delivered in a big truck and it was the kids job to sort it and put it into the storage shelves. 

I know that they relied on that food storage during times that my dad was laid off over the years.

We are expats (which I feel like I say in every single one of my posts) and we bring tons of food back with us from the USA when we visit. Almost all food is imported where I live and very, very expensive so it is cheaper to pay for extra luggage pieces full of food. When I do my Costco shopping trip before we head back overseas I pretty regularly spend $3000+. We bring back tons of meat, spices, snack food, protein bars, protein powder, nuts, gum, candy, Coconut oil, nuts, dried fruit, jerky and tons of stuff I can't even remember. It is crazy and we have 3 or 4 carts full of food. And to put it in perspective, we still spend about $2500/month feeding my family of 6 where we live even with bringing ALLL that food back with us every year. 

I can drop close to $500 when I make a trip to Costco to stock my freezer.

I did the big stock up in early March when talk of quarantining started - it was about $650. I hosted 24 last Thanksgiving - I have no intention of going and look at how much that cost.

I'm not sure because our bigger Costco trips have usually involved non-food purchases. Maybe $350? If I had to buy a month's worth of food from one store it would certainly be more.

When we go to the beach the grocery bill is always so high. We bring a big cooler with some food, but there is always so much to buy. Then we end up going back once or twice because the kids seem to eat at least double the normal amount of food.

Around $300 when we stocked up for the pandemic. But, that’s just the regular grocery store. We get meat, alcohol, laundry stuff, paper products, etc at Costco and have a meal delivery (Home Chef currently). And...we have a couple wine club memberships.
