Just a fluff post today. I just bought a months worth of groceries. I will need to replenish milk and bread but everything else should be good to go including laundry detergent and the like. I have no intention of leaving my house for the next month except to go to the bank and pharmacy (both drive thrus) and I am ecstatic! I had been doing two weeks worth, but today I loaded up. Not sure how the hubby will feel having butter and cheese in his beer fridge

Well, what did you spend? I think the most I have spent is $600.00. And that would be about a month's worth.

We once spent $900 at Costco but that included a lot of non groceries. I would say then probably about $600 on groceries at one time...

I spent about $700 the last time I hosted Thanksgiving. It was for 10 people. That includes wine. 😬

Well, what did you spend? I think the most I have spent is $600.00. And that would be about a month's worth. I actually only spent $217.00 bucks. But it is just two of us so not a lot of snack type foods purchased to feed hungry teenagers When I used to do this when the boys still lived at home, it would be around $400.00 a pop which is about average for us. I work for our family business so I am home all the time which allows me to make stuff from scratch and extend things into several meals.

I’d say I’ve spent around $750 a few times, back when the kids were teens. That would be holiday meals and teen snacks. We would always have a house full of teens, especially during school breaks because we had a rule that a parent had to be home. So that was usually me, at our house. Now that the kids are grown, they all remark on how they loved to come to our house and get fed. 🥰

I think my most is around the 600 mark too and that was after being away for a month vacation while my adult kids were still home eating everything I had stockpiled. It was like starting from scratch!

We would go through GALLONS of milk and chocolate milk mix, snack cakes, cookies etc. Our neighbor across the street would call his mom and ask if he could eat supper here, then eat at home too! His mom told me one time she was going to give me his SS# so I could claim him on my taxes! lol

I think around $750, at Costco. In my defense, I have six kids, including two teenagers and a pair of ten-year-old twins who are built like wires but eat more than I do.

It was a good thing we had the freezer space for it!

That includes wine. 😬 We've spent that much hosting Easter before although it isn't spent all in one place and was feeding more than 10. The whole lamb is the biggest single cost item and ordered through a specialty butcher. I've never gone more than two weeks without grocery shopping even during this pandemic. We probably spend $400 at the beginning to stock up a bit and have been running at our sort of regular $200-250 pace since.

We usually keep a couple of months of essentials, canned goods and etc especially in the winter because of weather in our area.
But growing up my parents routinely had storage and kept 1 years worth of non perishable food and either a half or whole cut of meat in the freezer storage. I remember it coming every year delivered in a big truck and it was the kids job to sort it and put it into the storage shelves.
I know that they relied on that food storage during times that my dad was laid off over the years.

During Corona Virus shopping, I’ve been shopping every 3-4 weeks and spend between $450-$600 depending on the need for the extras like laundry detergent, toothpaste, garbage bags, etc. Since I’ve always hated food shopping, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to shopping every week.
My most expensive shopping trip has to be Christmas due to my baking and holiday entertaining. I probably spend about $1,000 which probably covers 2-3 weeks at the end of December.

We are expats (which I feel like I say in every single one of my posts) and we bring tons of food back with us from the USA when we visit. Almost all food is imported where I live and very, very expensive so it is cheaper to pay for extra luggage pieces full of food. When I do my Costco shopping trip before we head back overseas I pretty regularly spend $3000+. We bring back tons of meat, spices, snack food, protein bars, protein powder, nuts, gum, candy, Coconut oil, nuts, dried fruit, jerky and tons of stuff I can't even remember. It is crazy and we have 3 or 4 carts full of food. And to put it in perspective, we still spend about $2500/month feeding my family of 6 where we live even with bringing ALLL that food back with us every year.

I used to shop the commissary once a month. So two overflowing carts at a time. I wasn’t the only one lol. Good memories!

I space out my holiday shopping and never add it up. The most I've spent at one time was $350 for a farewell party we threw ourselves when we moved out of state.

I was wondering about fresh fruit/veggies too - hoping to learn some new tips. I currently do a weekly shop.

I did the big stock up in early March when talk of quarantining started - it was about $650. I hosted 24 last Thanksgiving - I have no intention of going and look at how much that cost.

I just want to say I am so jealous. This pandemic has made us realize we need a 2nd fridge. Our kids are currently 2, 4, 7, and 9. I can't fit a week's worth of food in ours.

I'm not sure because our bigger Costco trips have usually involved non-food purchases. Maybe $350? If I had to buy a month's worth of food from one store it would certainly be more.
When we go to the beach the grocery bill is always so high. We bring a big cooler with some food, but there is always so much to buy. Then we end up going back once or twice because the kids seem to eat at least double the normal amount of food.

I shop weekly for 4 people and usually spend $100-150 depending on how much meat I buy. I know my bill was close to $250 a couple of weeks ago, but that included a box of ribeye steaks (about $85?). Late March, early April was pretty bad because I was spending more each week than usual, but a couple of big trips to Sams. But $250 is still probably the most at once.

Around $300 when we stocked up for the pandemic. But, that’s just the regular grocery store. We get meat, alcohol, laundry stuff, paper products, etc at Costco and have a meal delivery (Home Chef currently). And...we have a couple wine club memberships.

I have three daughters, so I am at the store every other day! We only have one refrigerator, so not enough room to have 2 weeks worth of stuff. But I did spend $500 between 2 stores in March when I went from not worrying about food, to going to walmart and seeing empty shelves. I panicked and bought 2 weeks worth. I almost had a panic attack with how much I spent!

I spent around $400 stocking up my son's cupboard several years ago. They just had a new baby added to the family and only one person working so.....
I don't think I have spent that much for my own cupboard at one time.
