Having a couple of friends over in three hours for a distanced dinner in our backyard. I want to thaw and cook some raw frozen shrimp in a bit of lemony sauce to add to Caesar Salad.
Can you help?

Very quickly. lol
Seriously, when I cook raw shrimp that's in some sort of sauce I get the sauce bubbling, put the shrimp in, and take the pot off the heat. Wait a few minutes and it will cook. But serve it right away because it will overcook if it sits in the hot sauce.

It takes about 3 minutes to cook shrimp in the sauce pan. They should curl into a “c”, but not so much that the c closes and the ends touch. Good luck!

Watch the heat and how long you cook them. 3-4 minutes is plenty. (Sometimes 4 is too much)

make sure they are UNcooked shrimp. I sometimes make that mistake. cooked you basically just warm up or eat cold like for a shirimp cocktail. Uncooked basically once they turn not opaque they are done.

It takes about 3 minutes to cook shrimp in the sauce pan. They should curl into a “c”, but not so much that the c closes and the ends touch. Good luck! This. And remove it from the pan immediately. Or else you turn off the heat early and they’ll finish in the residual heat.

What they all said. Whatever you do, do NOT simmer them on the stove top for 30 minutes. That is way my late MIL always cooked shrimp. Saddest thing ever. She was not open to suggestions to cook them any other manner. That’s just wrong!

Just don't overcook. It really takes about a minute per side.

I know I'm late to the party but here's how I do shrimp: I buy the bag of frozen raw shrimp, tails on, at Costco. I thaw as many as I need overnight in the refrigerator. I made a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic and some Old Bay Seasoning. Marinate in a Ziplock bag for a few hours. Thread the shrimp on skewers and grill ~ 2 minutes a side maximum ~ until the shrimp are translucent. Serve with a big salad and crusty french bread.
