This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These need to be posted in the body of your message post. LAYOUTS MUST BE HOSTED FROM ANOTHER SITE SUCH AS PHOTOBUCKET. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Nylene

Between answering the door to little trick-or-treaters, I finished a layout I started yesterday. We have had tons of kids come tonight and I'm sure it's because it's 73 degrees out there. We NEVER have a warm Halloween so this is just amazing. Hope the rest of my candy holds out to the end.

Ahhhhhhh such a sweet photo! Look at the love in Sammie's face as she feeds her new brother! Love how you scrapped this-the softness of the colors and the perfect title! Love that font! Awesome Page Nylene! Pinned!
How is everyone? And where is everyone? Thanks for the new thread Nylene! What would we do without you!!!! I was in working on holiday cards this evening. Oh we got the pathology report back and Bob's wound is clean! That was very good news! It is cold here and we are supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow-just a mix with rain but no accumulation. We had trick or treat last week but some communities are having it tonight. The kids parties at school were today and they have one tomorrow at the bowling alley! Maggie got a nice surprise today as her BFF who moved to another community came over to spend the night and Maggie did not know a thing about it She was totally surprised. Well I am going to go watch the news and then head fir the bed! Will be back tomorrow!

Happy November! I can't believe it is almost the holidays. Thanks Nylene for starting our new thread. We finally got a little rain last night and hope more comes today. Halloween was very quiet here. In my apartment complex, we usually don't get any trick o treater but last night we got one knock on the door. I think maybe many of the families got to churches or other functions to celebrate. Not doing much today but hope to have a good one.
Nylene- Your layouts are so adorable. The one with your dgd feeding the baby is sooooo sweet. I just love the flowers you added. Plus your pictures are always so clear and great they don't need a lot. They really tell a story. Awesome! Oh, and the one with you and your dh with the dgc is so cute. You all make such a happy family. "My family" right??? LOL! Ron is doing well on his job and he likes it there. My stencil gals are here on my table. I made sooo many of them I haven't shared yet. But I hope to turn them into cards soon. They all turned out so unique.
Cindy- Glad you dgd got that fun surprise. How was it on King James' opening night? I saw all the pre-game celebration on tv plus it looks like it is going to be a fun season. Good luck to your Brown's tomorrow.

Hi, Everyone!
Kelly, absolutely you are part of the family! We would welcome you and Ron anytime!!! I can't wait to see your stencil girls. We will have a small group for Thanksgiving this year, just Tori and Em and families. We wish Angie would come from CA, but know that's not a good time to travel over the snowy passes with a new baby. Eric and family are going to Hawaii since their oldest son is home from his mission.
Cindy, how's the walking?
Not much going on around here. Just the same old thing day in and day out. We are doing our Outdoor Cooking tomorrow for Cubs and it's supposed to be stormy. But I have a boy graduating in Dec. and he missed the summer cooking, so...... we'll cook in the cold!
I'm still working on Disney pages, but have to throw in a few others occasionally. I have plans to pull things out of my closet and totally rearrange this room, but I have to make sure I can still get to the Cub stuff during the process. I'm afraid it's a bigger job than I anticipate.
Better run. Take care, everyone. Hope you all have a great week and get a little time for some creativity.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are having a good one! Nylene- Thanks for the welcome again to your family. Oh, I started doing some genealogy again and found some new stuff. I haven't had my account open with Ancestry in a while but glad I could still access my info on there and even open new hints. I made a few notebooks on Ron's side a while ago and saw a document I printed listing his relative in the war of 1812. So I want to f/u on this and see if I can see the record. If I need any help, I will let you know. Ron's family is from the east coast and I think he may have ancestors living there back into the early days. Not sure but it is a fun search again.

Kelly, how great that you found my genealogical info. I'm amazed at what is becoming available. I had a relative in the War of 1812 too. Isn't that so interesting. I love learning about the people who came before me. I hope you have all noticed the Fairy Podmother has created a gallery for this site. You know how techno-challenged I am, but I managed to walk myself through it and post a layout. But I don't know how to direct you to it. I'll keep working on it. The link for the Gallery is www.flickr.com/groups/2peasrefugees/ and the title is Hangin' with Red. We are supposed to be able to search by tags and I tagged it "Pokey Peas Challenge" so I'm sure there's a way to find it that way. Just haven't figured it all out yet. The good thing is that once we find a layout, we can actually leave a comment on it like we could at 2peas. I'll be back to work on it a bit later. Have a great day.

Stopped by for a few minutes. I tried to get into the gallery but I have not figured it out yet and right now my brain is too tired to try. I am still walking and am doing 8-9000 steps a day. Plus today we worked on yard clean-up and leaves. Maybe tomorrow I can think and follow directions! L Cameragal8 nice meeting you and welcome to the Pokey Peas. I am Cindy AKA Trouble. I have been here for five years and this was my first scrappy home, I am a wife, mom of two dd and have two grandchildren. Let us know a little about you!
I can not even type tonight so will be back tomorrow!

I added another layout to the Gallery. I still haven't figured out how to link it or if you can, but I'll work on it a little later.
I had a skin cancer surgically removed from my forehead Thursday and today I have a black eye and it's swollen almost closed at the corner. I look a sight!! My little readers at school yesterday asked about the big white bandage that goes up into my hairline, but I'm worried about scaring them on Monday! LOL! By then I can at least change the dressing to a flesh-colored bandage. Ohhhhh, this getting old is not always fun!
Gotta run. Hope you are all doing well. I'll check back later.

Good Sunday afternoon ladies! Hope you are all having a great weekend. Sorry I have not been here. I have had a few distractions the past couple of days.
Nylene-so sorry to hear about the swelling in your eye-thank gravity for that! Just so glad that they got that removed and that you do not get anymore.
Kelly-My Browns are tied with the Steelers for first place and if they lose today we will be all alone on the top of the AFC North! It has been a long time since we have seen that. Right now the Steelers are losing! Yea!!!!!
I have not gone over to the galllery yet but I will try to do that later today!

Cindy- Yes, I have been hearing about those Browns!!! Congrats! I hope they continue to do well. Oh, and Ohio beat MSU last night and I am sure your state was rockin'. Enjoy all this success!

Cindy, I have posted 2 layouts and tagged them Pokey Peas Challenge, but I haven't figured out how you can search the gallery by tags yet. I did see that you followed me, so I followed you back. I don't really understand it all yet, but maybe I'll get better as time goes on. If we can search by "Pokey Pea Challenge" it will be easy to see each other's work. Just need to figure it all out.
Kelly, we have had a warm day today, so thanks for sending warm winds. We went out to Tori's for the Children's Sacrament Meeting Program so we could watch her youngest 2 do their parts. Even though we live in the same county, we don't get to see the kids enough for my liking. We (the kids and I) decided we must have at least a one night and maybe 2 night sleepover during Thanksgiving holidays. They are growing up right before our eyes.
Angie sent a little video of her BABY pulling himself to his feet on his exer-saucer. He CAN'T be doing that yet. He's still supposed to be a tiny baby. Wow, how they grow.
I put a big flesh-colored bandage on my forehead to cover the stitches that go from hairline to eyebrow, then curled my bangs down over it and it was several minutes before Tori and the kids even noticed. What they noticed first was the black eye. So maybe I won't scare my little readers tomorrow after all! LOL!
Gotta run. Nice to "see" you!

Hey, I just figured it out. When you post something, be sure to tag it "Pokey Peas Challenge" (you need the quotes). Then from the gallery page, go to the top search and as I typed in one letter, a menu came up to search just this group, click on that and it takes you to another page where you can put "Pokey Peas Challenge" in quotes and it will pull up anything tagged that way.
I can't get the 2nd menu (search just this group) to come up until I type in any letter in the box. But I was able to pull up both of my layouts by searching "Pokey Peas Challenge". Maybe we will have to tag our layouts by the month also, or all will come up at once. I'll do some looking into it.
ETA: I just tried it again and added another page. I was able to pull it up with the "Pokey Peas Challenge" search.
So, start posting some things so I can see what you are doing!!

When I followed you I got an email that sent me a link right to your pages Nylene! So if you followed me you should get one that would take you to mine of I had any! Maybe I will try posting the last one I did and see how it goes. Kelly get over there and jpin the gallery so you know what we are talking about! LOL

Cindy, I did a search first of "this group" that comes up, then put in "Pokey Peas Challenge" in the next box and yours came up with mine. There is not actually a group called Pokey Peas, you just have to type it in with the quotes. It's weird that I can't get that 2nd box without typing some letter into the search and quickly clicking on the menu that pops up for a half second underneath. It's a bit cumbersome, but at least we can have a gallery.

How interesting. I got Flickr mail but not thumbnails. There must be a box I didn't check. The only way I can find your layout is through a search for Pokey Peas Challenge. Maybe I'll work on it after school tomorrow. I must be missing something.

Nylene - beautiful first SB page (Devotion) on this post, TFS. Sorry to hear about your forehead and eye, but good for you for getting the spot treated.
I have not figured out the new gallery here. I took a look at it the other night, but either I was too tired, or the directions just went Zooooooommmm over the top of my head, or both.

Hi there Pokeys!!! I hope that you are all doing well. Life here is cruising along just fine. I'm keeping busy at work and with all of our family stuff. Mallory is in driver's ed now, she is actually a pretty good driver, she's a lot better at it than Olivia was when she started driving. Nylene - I'm glad that you got that spot removed and that you are doing okay. The kids will probably think the black eye is cool. I love the LO that you posted above, that is such a sweet photo of Sammy & Christopher. It was freezing here on Halloween this year, so we had almost no trick or treaters. Cindy - how long have you been walking the 8-9k steps? Have you been able to lose weight that way? One of my friends does 10k steps every day, she's lost quite a bit of weight, but she's eating clean most of the time too. I'll have to wonder over to check out the gallery. It's great that the fairy podmother made one for us. I stayed home from work today, I had a clear schedule and decided to spend some time playing instead of working. I got a LO done, cut some fall shapes with my Cameo and printed up a ton of photos. I'll be set the next time that I get time to scrap. Take care ladies!!! Tina

Bonnie and Tina, it's so nice to see you checking in. I know this is a crazy busy time from now until the end of the year. Hope you each get some scrappy time.
I just posted another layout in the gallery. I'm finding the search feature not very friendly.
WHEN YOU POST A LAYOUT, BE SURE TO ADD A TAG "Pokey Pea Challenge" (with the quotes). It can be searched that way, but it's not easy. Maybe we can keep track of each other's layouts that way. I have a hard time reading the white lettering of the poster's name in the bottom corner of the gallery image. My eyes just aren't what they used to be!
I'm having carpets cleaned tomorrow, so am moving furniture and doing some reorganizing. It's tiring so I'm taking a break for a few! LOL!
Sending hugs and warm wishes to all of you.....especially those in the east and midwest who are already under snow. It's cold here 25 degrees and windy, but no snow!

Good evening Peas! Hope all is going well with everyone. I hope to spend the evening in my scrap room doing something. I need to work on my cards and I do not remember the last page I scrapped. Sitting out here watching tv is driving me nutty. I am hoping I can spark my mojo since I am so bored. Tina-I have been walking since the beginning of August. I am up to 8K a day. I actually got a badge yesterday saying I have climbed 500 floors since Aug 1. I have had a couple 10,000K days but I am not ready for that every day. I may go up to 9000 next week. I have not made up my mind about that yet. My doctor is happy! You retire and become quite sedentary! Nylene-it is cold here today too. We walked outdoors this morning and it was 35 and windy. I put my long johns on and my winter coat and stayed comfy! Pat has stopped scrapping and is quilting. She even removed her blog from the internet. I used to go there twice a day and miss seeing her work. She seems happy with her decision though. She kept her tools and things as she says she may start up again one day. Kelly-Is it warm in Calif? If so we are all coming to visit until June! We can watch football together! LOL We are all one big happy family right? Ok I am going to finish this cu of hot tea and head for my scrap room=-I do need to doa few steps also. BBL!

Hi, all. My carpet cleaners are here so I'm stuck in my scraproom for a while. OH DEAR! DH is hiding out in the basement working on wooden toys for the grands for Christmas. A whole morning just to play in my room. I hope I get some scrapping done instead of just clean up.
Have a nice day!

Cindy- It was pretty warm but the last few days have been dreary and cool. But I am sure it is a lot better than all that cold weather you are having. So Cali has her arms wide open to welcome you if you came. Yeah, we would be watching football, eating good food and having a great time! LOL!!! I have been bored too. I look forward when my mojo comes back.
Nylene- Oh, I have to get over to the gallery. I did stop over there for a brief time, but this time I gotta really check it out. Have fun in your scrap room today. With all that cold weather and carpet cleaning, you deserve a cozy and fun afternoon. Wow, you dh is making wooden toy gifts??? That sounds amazing! What types is he making?
Waving hi to Tina and Bonnie!
