Here's a photo taken after we finished the last of our hikes in the Fall Hiking Spree. I felt true accomplishment when I was awarded my hiking staff that we worked hard to earn.

Cindy, I love your new avatar. I guess I should change mine since it's about 4 years old! I'm so proud of you and your family for your great job of hiking. Wish I could go with you. I love those staffs. That's what I need for Cub Day Camp! Congratulations to all of you.
Kelly, I was able to find some of your artwork. I can't get it to show up in the gallery, so I don't know how I got to it, but glad I did. I find the gallery impossible to search. I'm hoping that as time goes on it will get better. It's pretty sweet of the Fairy Podmother to do the work to make it possible at all.
I need to get ready for Cubs today. We are starting the Scientist, which is one of my favorites! We get to do all kinds of experiments.
I'll check in later in the week. Have a good one.

Thanks Nylene! The hiking was fun. I think I have walked so much that I have aggravated the arthritis in my feet. They are throbbing tonight. BBLSo I am resting them tonight and will see how they are tomorrow.
Waving a big Hi to one and all. I do not have much going on so not much to say right now. BBL!

Waving hi from Cali! Not much going on here. I actually feel bored but have several things I could do! LOL! So I guess in my case doing nothing but playing on the computer and watching a Jane Austin movie is what I need. I did get on my art table the other day and painted. It felt good and may work on it some more today.
Nylene- Yeah, art I have on Flicker is from a while back. Glad you saw them though. I am glad we have a gallery now and I know we will all figure it all in time. How did the scout's science experiments turn out and what were they?
Cindy- WOW, what a great picture and family accomplishment! That is so awesome that you all did it. How are those toes and feet today?

Good evening Peas! Hope all is well with everyone! I actually scrapped a page tonight-first one I did in a while Here's a link to it Maybe this will make it easier to find in the gallery. I am going to try it. Fall Hiking SpreeOh boy Nylene it worked! If you copy the url of your layout in the gallery and then click on the link icon above it is the globe with a paper over it and then paste the link into the bottom line and your title into the top line it will take us right to the page-just like at Two Peas.

Thanks, Cindy, I will try that out. I have 4 layouts sitting on my table that I haven't scanned yet. I guess I'd better get going and get them scanned. I love your layout. That's such a great photo of all of you. How did you do that background. Kelly, I only had 3 boys at Cubs. The other 2 were sick, so we'll have to catch them up next week. We study Bernoulli's law (that explains how an airplane flies), Newton's 1st Law of Motion, and air pressure and water pressure experiments. We also do a Scientific Method experiment of putting a skewer through an inflated balloon. They loved that and the Newton's egg trick where I put a glass of water on the counter, a pie pan on top, a toilet paper tube on top and then a raw egg across the top of the tube. I step on the bristles of a broom and pull the handle back and let it fly to hit the pie pan. The egg hovers in mid-air and then drops neatly into the glass as the pie tin and toilet paper tube fly across the room. Next week we will make Cartesian Divers and our rockets and hope it's warm enough to go out and shoot them off. I need to run. I'll check back later. You 2 - I'm trying this out. ETA: Hey, that worked! I'll get my others scanned and posted. Thanks, Cindy.

Wow Nylene I am amazed at what all you were doing here. I would be afraid to do that one trick with the broom and raw eggs flying around! I am so loving the layout you posted about the lincoln logs-amazing!!! I am glad you like the posting I think it will be so much easier for all of us!
Well I am really tired so getting off of here so I can hit the hay! Be back tomorrow. I am going to work on laundry and play in my scrap room tomorrow.

Hi girls! there is almost 2 months I have not come here! but this does not mean I have forgotten about you! Not at all!! Today I am back. It took me a while to keep up with everything that happened, and I must to confess I just read most of the posts, not all of them I saw we have a new member. Its good to have new people, it brings new air, new LO, new ideas. I love to meet new people!
Cindy, I am sorry to hear about your husbands leg. I hope he is fully recuperated by now. But I love to read about your 9K walkings. I am not retired but I am in need of excessing. The problem is that I am lazy. pure and simple laziness. I know exercise is a must for my health but I always find excuses not to exercise. May be I can mirror you, Cindy. You will be my inspiring exercise muse! lol
Nylene, I sorry about your eye. Love all the LO you posted. I still have to read on how the gallery works.
Kelly, I am glad you are back to your paintings. I hope to see more of your work soon.
Here things are not that good. The elections came, and the country is divided. The elected president won with a 2% more votes. She was not my candidate. The corruption involving her party is shameless. I feel embarrassed. Everyday there is a new scandal about it. But she is a populist and in Brazil there is a lot of illiterate that believes anything she says when it comes with an assistencialism money to the people. My husband is still unemployed and perspectives are not good for bankers. The country turned into an "persona non grata" to foreign investors. And no one has accepted the president invitation to be minister of finances. This alone says a lot. I am still working at my clinic, but when the end of the year comes, the clients goes. Money is an issue right now to every one especially when we get closer to christmas, and vacations. So I might have a slower month on the clinic until february. We are planning to sell our house to move to an apartment. This way we will have a good amount of money if we decide to move back to Rio, or open a business, or anything else. But to sell is going to be difficult because of Brazil's situation. Nobody is investing or spending. Lets see whats going to happen.
Do you believe my first Cocoa Daisy box, from august, arrived on November 13th? It was at customs for an eternity it seemed to me! I was planning to cancel my subscription because it ends by december and I wasn't getting the kits. But I love what I get. I make a few pages. I will try to post it here for you guys.
This weekend my husband and my two youngest kids went to Rio. I stayed at home with my oldest because he is taking a test tomorrow for one of the federal universities. I hope he can get in. He already studied History during one year in a private university but decided to change to game Design. Then he change his mind again do History. I hope he can find his path.
Well, thats it...
Kisses to all of you, and waving to you!

Dani, it's so nice to see you back again. I'm so sorry about the things going on in your country. I read about your election in the newspaper and it sounded like so many people are unhappy. I really hope that things can get better for you and your family and your whole country. You are in my prayers. Good luck to your son on his testing for the University. I hope we can see more of your scrapping now that you FINALLY got your first kit. Wow, that was a long wait! Cindy walked me through posting to the gallery, so I know you can do it too. Please don't ever think you need to go back and catch up on the thread. Just post when you can and join in when you can. I scanned my 3-page layout and posted it. You can't post more than one image in a post, so it posted each page separately. I'm going to link you to all of them so you can see the cool buildings my grands made with the blocks DH made last year. They are really all one page....spread apart. LOL! Lincoln Log Christmaspage 2page 3Thanks for the help, Cindy.

Hey Ladies! I am sending some sunny rays your way. Not much creatively going on here. I do plan on sharing some things I made over the last few months on my blog soon. I will let you know when. We had an early Thanksgiving last night and it was a nice surprise. Ron's job has a big feast for lunch and he got to bring home lots of turkey and stuffing and even some pie. So we enjoyed it. I am not cooking any special holiday meal so that was a treat. We will be celebrating the holiday with my mom so I know there will be more turkey and the fixin' there. Nylene and Cindy- I gotta get over to our new gallery and see all the lovely pages you have posted there. Glad to see you both scrappin away! Dani- Great to see ya. Wow, you family and country are going through a tough time now and I hope things get better soon. Hang in there!!! Jen- Waving hi to you too! Good to see you and hope you visit again.

Kelly, we'll take any of that sunshine you can send. We are fortunate not to be in the big storms and nor'easters that other parts of the nation are getting, but it's COLD here and windy. We made rockets in cubs today and took them out to launch. It was cold enough that the boys were happy to just shoot them 6-7 times. So we were only out about 15 minutes. We have just a skiff of snow on the ground, but nothing on the roads, which is nice. Lucky you to have 2 Thanksgivings! That was nice of Ron's work to send home leftovers. Turkey leftovers are always my favorite.
We will be going to DD's just south of us. It will just be them and us and Em's family. We will miss Angie and family and DS and his family are in Hawaii. How would it be??
Tomorrow I will have 3 grands all day and night and will take them to DD's for Thanksgiving. Then I'll bring 5 of them home with me for a sleepover on Thanksgiving night. I may be a bit looney by Friday night! I'm hoping I can keep them entertained (or that they entertain themselves) for that long. I may put them to work bring up my Christmas boxes and setting up my village.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone. I probably won't get back to the computer before Friday night or Sat.

Hi, girls! It's the long lost Pokey Pea! I have just read this month's thread to catch up with you all. It sounds like everyone is doing well. I hope you all had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving! I miss chatting with you girls regularly, but between work, church and homeschooling, I rarely have a lot of computer "free time." I have had a great Thanksgiving break so far. I have scrapped up a storm--6 pages in the past 2 days! Other than that, I have only scrapped about 6 pages all year. I really look forward to Christmas and summer break, as I will actually have time to scrap and read! I read about Cindy and Nylene figuring out the gallery here, but I don't think I have the time (or patience) to do that right now! I hope it is still okay to post a couple of pages here! I've got share the story behind this first one. My dd had a friend who was in a terrible wreck 2 years ago and suffered a traumatic brain injury. This past spring, Anna got to be her "buddy" during Special Olympics. When the friend started falling behind in the race, Anna leaned up and whispered in her ear. The girls grinned and took off like a shot! Anna had told her to run like a bear was after her! hehehe Being a buddy is all about the motivation! How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? I have about 80% of mine finished. My husband just ordered me a DSLR camera! I, after years of longing for one, am finally going to have a good camera! Now I have to sweet talk him into letting me use it when it gets here! I'll try to drop back in soon!

Hi Peas! So nice to see you Amy and Pam-you both have been missed! Pam we have a gallery here now and I found if you copy the url for your page you can post the link here just like we did at Two Peas! Makes life easier! I hope everyone had a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving!
I will be watching the Browns play today-they play in Buffalo now that they hauled all the snow out of the stadium. All my college teams won yesterday! Makes my day. We went to the Children's Hospital Christmas tree exhibition last night. Some trees I liked , some not so much. Our office donated trees several times. You purchase and decorate the tree, and then it is sold and 100% of the proceeds go to Children's Hospital. They also had wreaths and center pieces available. Then they wrap the trees and deliver them all decorated.
Amy- your pages are wonderful! Love the story about Anna-what a great kid you have there! I would say you are doing a great job raising them! I have not started shopping and still have no idea what I am going to do for anyone! You will love your new camera! It is so nice to be able to zoom in and not have the photo become grainy! I have had mine for 2 years and love it. I was catching pics this morning of the red tail hawks and woodpeckers.
Pam we have missed seeing your beautiful pages and catching up with Ruby Thursday!!!So glad you stopped by and hope to see you again soon!
Ok off of here for now.

Here it is the first of December and I'm just getting back to the computer since Thanksgiving. Where do the hours go in a day? Amy, it's so great to see you. Feel free to post your layouts the same old way on the thread. The gallery is nice to have, but you have to hunt for layouts from the Pokey Peas and I haven't figured that out yet. I love your layouts. Your little Anna has such a sweet, tender heart. Beautiful way to document her race. And Will has really grown up. It's amazing how fast they have grown up when we just see photos on and off. Hope things are going well for you. Sounds like you are a busy, busy mama. You are doing a great job. Hang in there. Good luck with your new camera. Pam, you have been greatly missed. I hope you are getting time with your little Ruby. Alex is such a handful! Boys are sure different from girls! Stop by when you can. We miss seeing your beautiful layouts and photos. Cindy, glad your teams are doing well. Sounds like your Children's Hosp. tree exhibition is like our Festival of Trees. It's always a huge $ maker and such beautiful trees are auctioned. All proceeds go to Primary Children's Hospital. We haven't been up to SLC to the festival for several years, but I loved going. Kelly, how are your teams doing? We had lots of fun with the kids sleeping over. What would I do without them.....but I slept VERY WELL the next night!! LOL! I'll copy this post to the December Pokey Peas thread, too. THIS THREAD IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED. New thread can be found here. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/13142/pokey-peas-refugees-challenge-december
