My husband came home from work sick today. He had stomach cramps, severe diarrhea, headache, muscle and joint pain. His supervisor sent him straight to Urgent Care. Hubby had a temp of 103 and the shakes. They tested for Covid19 and told him to quarantine for 3 to 10 days. He is now in our bedroom, quarantined from the rest of us. The dr. is starting him on meds, not sure what they are. Hubby said we use Kroger pharmacy (haven't in years) and when I went to get it, they said it wouldn't be ready for at least a couple hours.
I am so worried and scared. He NEVER goes anywhere but to work. He is so very cautious. He always wears his mask and always uses gloves when getting gas. He is faithful at using hand sanitizer as well. Two people at his job have positive Covid19 tests but they do not work in his building. He works with about 6 other people and they will all have to be tested, I am sure.
My heart is breaking. I want to give my husband a kiss and hug. I want to be able to take care of him and not leave him alone in our room. We are only talking on cell phones. I am so terrified. I have cardiac issues, diabetes, asthma/COPD. I am also terrified because we have custody of our two grands, ages 14 and 11. And youngest DD and grandbaby, 19 months, live with us because SIL is currently at Ft. Campbell awaiting surgery due to issues from deployment.
So far, the rest of us aren't showing any symptoms. We are wearing our masks just to make sure. I am so worried about going back to Kroger to get his meds. Thankfully we are fully stocked on food and drinks for the kids. And I got supremely lucky today and found a 4 pack of Lysol wipes at Kroger when I first stopped to get his meds. Felt like winning the lottery and made me feel a tiny bit better. I left a container next to hubby, along with some extra masks and hand sanitizer.

Oh Sherri, how frightening for you! I pray this pestilence passes over your family and your husband recovers quickly and fully from whatever he is suffering from. Gosh, I'm sorry honey. Try to be brave and strong, it may not be COIVD.

Oh, I hope it is something else. DH had some symptoms in early July but tested negative and it passed quickly. It really flips your world upside down though waiting on those results. I hope he feels better soon and the rest of you will stay healthy.

Sending prayers for you, your DH and your family. I hope and pray this is not Covid 19 and that your DH ends us testing negative. I'm so very sorry that you both have to go through the stress and worry until you find out what it is. I think that must be just as bad sometimes as treating the illness itself.
I know it sounds petty, but try to stay as calm as you can. Worrying over this now won't change anything but stress can do a lot of damage to you. I've recently used a method myself where I imagine a door and a keyed lock. I actually make the motions in the air of opening the door, shoving all of my worries into the imagined room, closing the door and locking it and then I happily throw away the key. It helps when whatever I'm worrying over invades my thoughts entirely and won't let me focus on anything else.
I'm not saying stop being proactive. I am a person who believes in being prepared and following the rules. Do all you can now to make sure you are prepared in case it comes out positive (make sure you have enough masks, cleaning supplies (so great you were able to score the disinfectant wipes, and so on) just in case) just as you are doing now.
Keep in touch with us and let us know how the test turns out. And always remember we are here for you night and day if you need a shoulder to lean on, and ear to listen or someone to chat with.

Call your Kroeger pharmacy and see if they will bring to your car or perhaps they have a drive up window. Make sure you have plenty of paper plates and cups, plastic silverware. We had a co-worker go home sure he had COVID, and it ended up being a severe UTI. The waiting will be the worst. ((HUGS))

So sorry. Sounds totally like flu though, so try not to panic too much. Those are all symptoms of Covid. Influenza doesn’t usually have gastric symptoms. Unless you are referring to gastrointestinal illness, which some mistakenly call “flu”.

Hope your DH has a negative test. Being terrified is not good for you or your whole family. You need to rest and take care of you, just in case he is positive.

I pray your husband doesn't have covid.
Keep in mind, however, that if he is diagnosed with covid, he can recover. My husband had similar symptoms to what you are describing back in March. I was so concerned I took him to the emergency room twice. They didn't really do anything for him. That was before they really knew anything about treating covid, so hopefully things are better now. Anyway, my husband, who is 65 fully recovered, although it took him about three weeks.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted.

sending healing prayers. We are in the same boat. My daughter was tested today. Fever, chills, head and body aches. My youngest spent the weekend over there so we are now on watch at both houses.
