I have been doing Echo park, which is every other month, but I stopped it this month. The things I didn't like about it were they sent you a kit using a certain designer, and it was like everything in that theme. So you got the patterned paper, stickers, ephemera, chipboard, etc in that designers theme. Ok, there are just so much of the exact same object/phrase I can use in sticker, chipboard and paper form. If they would split if up and send us like one of them, not all of them. And they were also sending an acrylic stamp group also, which I would never use. So I stopped it.
The other kit I was really liking was the Not just for boys kit club, but I was always on the stand by and could never get the premium kit unless they had extra. But I liked them because the did the kit using different designers, but it all matched, in a them. Just not all one designers theme.
Anyone know of any more kits sort of like the not for boys one?

I am having to drop my Not Just Boys Kit due to my ongoing unemployment, and I am super bummed. I love their kits. I don’t know of anything similar, sorry!

You could try The Secret Not Secret Kit Club. She will design a kit to your specifications for the amount of money you want to spend.

Eh. I like the idea of a surprise kit. If I want something specific I feel I would just buy it myself.

I like my ScrapRoom kit. I get the Flavors of the Month, which is four different brands each month. There are usually three patterned papers, two coordinating card stock papers, and a sample of embellishments for each of the four brands. Each kit is usually enough for four 2-page 12x12 layouts. They are usually newer brands. I like it because I can get a sample of new stuff without buying an entire line. Sometimes the paper is too pink or too floral for me, but that’s usually only one line, so three sheets of paper—which doesn’t seem like a big deal for me to donate or toss. A lot of times I can use the b side of the paper too for something else. Here’s the link www.scrap-room.com/

Have you looked at Elle’s studio? It’s a smaller kit without paper but I like the products and they’re exclusive, so not something you could put together yourself. I have tons of summer pictures and I love their summer kits so I joined in June. I’ve really missed the Scrapbook Generation kits and haven’t found anything to replace them with. I like the Not Just for Boys and have purchased a few individual kits. I occasionally get the Echo Park one, too. I haven’t bought a scrap room kit in years, but the lines look current to me. www.scrap-room.com/eta - Scrapbook and Cards Today has about 4 seasonal kits each year. They’re in Canada, so unfortunately, you have to pay for shipping to the US. But, they’re fun kits.

I love my Ali Edwards story kits. They include 3x4 and 4x6 cards rather than patterned paper, but I tend to use them for traditional layouts with just basic cardstock backgrounds or other papers from my stash. The cards work well on traditional layouts also, to cut out as embellishments or to use as patterned paper. The entire kit is custom and exclusive around a specific theme and it comes with a class to give you ideas for how to use the products with process videos. The projects done in the class are 3 traditional layouts and 1 pocket page layout from Ali, plus 4 additional projects from contributors that vary every month. I love that the themes prompt different story ideas with my scrapbooking, but they are often broad enough (especially over time) that I can tell all of the stories I want to tell. The stamp is sold separately if you don't want stamps (I know a lot of people don't). The current kit is Roam (new kits on the 15th of the month) and it's very outdoorsy and good for travel, camping, hiking or other outdoor activities. You can see it here. I have subscribed and gotten every kit and don't intend on quitting anytime soon, I have created so many pages with these kits! But I know others will just watch the themes and pick them up if they like the kit/the theme speaks to them.

I was buying the Not Just for Boys Kits every month. One of the designers posted her work on this board and when I asked questions about what kits she used she got kind of snippy with me. It just left a bad taste in my mouth so I don't know if I'll buy from them again. It is too bad, I love a lot of their kits but I don't do scrapbooking to feel bad.
I'd love to find another kit club like Not Just For Boys.

I am also looking for a kit club to subscribe to. I subscribed to Secret Not Secret Kit, but am still waiting for my first kit.

I used to get Scrapping For Less, now I am getting Create and Inkspire. I am primarily a card maker though, so stamps, and paper works for me.

My last kit sub was Kelly Purkey. Her style suited the way I document which is usually current events, no kids. I also subbed the first year to AE’s SBTM. I quit after the first year because too much of her handwriting and WAY too much repetition. I needed more variety between the stamps, cards, chipboard. The of the exact same sentiment in the exact same handwriting in each was too much. I also don’t like her quote cards. The quotes rarely worked for me and I ended up using the cards by having to cover up the quote.

I get Hip Kit Club (main) kits. I'm only 4 months in, but I don't quite get the rhythm of their kits. The first month used 3 different collections, the second month used 1 collection paired with HKC exclusives, the third month was 4-5 different collections with HKC exclusives, and next month's sneak shows only HKC exclusives. I didn't think the quality of the HKC exclusives was very good, so I'm not thrilled to be getting a kit full of exclusives. It's a 30 day cancellation, but I may be looking for a replacement subscription soon.

I started Citrus Twist 2 months ago and I'm really happy with it. I scrap 6x8 so the kit is the right size for me.
I had done Ali's story kit for 2+ years before that and it had grown stale for me.

I do Scraproom also....I had done them years ago and took a break...just started about three months ago...I really like the MIR, it really forces me to at least do a MIR LO. I don't have kids, so If one of the LO is "kiddy" themed I donate it...works well for me!!

I just came off their reservation list on to the premuim one, and something got screwed up and I didn't get the monthly invoice. They are working really hard with me to fix it. They didn't just say, oh, well. Though I did miss the kit, which sucks.

I’m going to do Shimelle’s Best if both Worlds kits. I like that there’s no set “contract”, and I can sub what I have if I don’t want to buy it all. I also don’t have to buy the stamps which is big for me. It cuts down the cost of the kits.

I really like how she went through the kit and explained her thinking and how you could substitute something in your stash. I plan on playing along too.

I went back and read what I wrote in my last post and the kit club and I don’t think I said anything snippy? However, if I did, I apologize. That was not my intention. The kit club is fantastic and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I sub to Ali's story kit, stamp and I just added the SBTM subscription. I was getting the Elle's Studio kit but I've canceled that for now. I was feeling the Ali SBTM more so I'm giving that a shot. I'm a fan of Ali's but I know she's not for everyone.
But I really love my Citrus Twist sub ... they are fantastic and worth every penny IMHO.

I think it is their way of answering all of the comments there is too much pink in their kits. I am someone who loves all of the pink, aqua and purple. There may be one or two things that I will use so I’ll not order any extra kits. I wish they offered a skip a kit option! They reveal the kit too late to quit for that next month.

I subbed to a Cocoa Daisy Pocket Kit a few months ago and already had an Ali Story Kit. I like the latest Cocoa Daisy themes and designs but they are not for everyone as their monthly theme can be a hit or miss. I like that I can skip every other month with Ali so if the word is not the one I would use I skip and if I have to buy one I do not like, I can always sell it..

I love my Ali Edwards story kits I don't like her small papers or the stamps. Otherwise I do like her style. That's why it's great that the stamps are sold separately, but I totally get it if the cards aren't for you. She did hint at starting a new kit sometime soon (I think they're just in the development stages) so maybe she'll make one with larger papers?
