@northrigg so sorry to hear about Stormy.
I've made a few foundation pages but got waylaid by work being super busy again. I've been to a few events already though and have some ideas for other stories so will have to catch up a bit at the weekend.

I was just reading the day one prompts and peopleās supply plans for Shimelleās JYC and SYC and I read one comment that sparked an idea for me. I didnāt end up doing an album last year, but someone mentioned that they were just going to add pages to their 2019 album to compare whatās the same and whatās different. I might make mine a 2 year album/journal - not documenting every detail, but choosing with each prompt whether I want to talk about this year or last year or comparing them. That actually might help fill in the gaps in both years and also smooth out some of the big bummer elements (we had a family member die around Thanksgiving last year). Iām starting my documenting in my DayOne journal for now. That is a WONDERFUL idea!

Did anyone watch the first lesson in Share Your Christmas? I haven't singed up yet but I'm seriously considering it. I haven't quite gotten to the first video yet, just read the pdf, but the first lesson is about using Lightroom on your phone (free app) to edit photos. Today is about styling photos I believe.

December hasn't kicked off in the best way for several of our DD-ers and I'd say that's very 2020... Hugs to all of you being dealt a crappy hand as we inaugurate what should be the happiest month of the year. For anyone who might need it, here are Jonna Jinton's magical ice song videos recorded in Lapland last year (perfect with headphones): hutchfan I hope you can find a way to honour your friend that doesn't put your own life at risk. This is such a hard time to grieve. Please don't feel guilty no matter which decision you make. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm not above creating moments to scrapbook this December.
Today we had hot chocolate, with peppermint spoons (candycane-type candy, formed into a spoon), and a can of whipped cream that the kids could add their own, as much as they wanted.
Yes, it was as messy as it sounds.
I took pics.

My living room is currently covered in December Daily supplies! Three of us are working on this project so I am just embracing the festiveness of Christmas colored paper scraps covering the coffee table.
Day 1 included a visit from 4 deer to our back yard/woods so the stories are off to a good start. I will be including the last picture I took of my Oncle Jules because yesterday is the day I found out he died last week. I'll hide the journaling about that behind the picture though.
My 7-year-old has come up with a great setup for her daily numbers. She's got a set of Kelly Parker numbers, a set of Hip Kit Club tree ephemera, and 3x4 cards and cardstock. She's so pleased with herself and it does look really cute.

Did they devour the entire can of whipped cream? I know my 3 would. LOL! I also let our elf, Jovie, pick some activities...

I hope you are all well and that December life is treating you kindly. Today is December 3rd and we're on schedule for the second DD documenting prompt of the year. DECEMBER 3RD - 4THExposition: Setting the scene | Today we're focusing on the beginning of the story, when the storyline is first revealed. Traditionally, exposition contains three elements to anchor the story about to be told (or, more accurately if you're documenting in real time, to unfold): the where + when ("setting"), the who ("main characters"), and the what ("conflict"). Conflict here refers to the obstacle the main characters are trying to overcome. While in "normal" times, that may simply have been surviving and thriving during the most hectic time of the year, things are inherently different in 2020 and many of us have identified the impact of the pandemic as the main (and completely unknown to us) obstacle. Exposition allows you to draw your audience - including your future self looking back on these memories - in and give them the necessary elements to not only fully understand but also inhabit the story. The beauty of documenting in real time is that you can capture all these nuances that over time, too, shall if not disappear at least tarnish and lose in intensity, details and perceived gravity if you don't take the time to fix them in place. You can write and photograph the elements of exposition that set the very particular (and hopefully once in a lifetime only!) scene we're all evolving in for Christmastide this year. Photo + story ideas: 1. Give yourself time to play around with your journaling if you enjoy writing. Look at some of your favourite books to see how the authors managed to write the exposition for those stories. Some expositions are extremely short and contained within just a sentence or two. Some unfold over several paragraphs. If you really want to get in a Christmassy mood, don't forget to check your favourite seasonal stories like Dickens' Christmas Carol! If you find yourself struggling to come up with a traditional exposition for your December album this year, how about taking a photo that represents all three elements (i.e. masks hanging by the door, next to wooly scarves and hats) and creating three arrow points to explicit the where + when, the who and the what. 2. Photograph newspaper headlines about the current pandemic news, take screenshots of your country/municipality/county's official recommendations for the holidays, take a ready-to-go-safely-out-into-the-world portrait of your family wearing masks + winter coats, take a pic of your "different kind of December" to-do or grocery list. Think of your photography assignment as creating a time capsule of the 2020 December "normal". Song of the day:

Someone had posted about the app "Front Pages" sometime this year and I use it for quickie screen shots of headlines all over. Then it's already 3x4 size for my DD, too.

The French Prime Minister just announced that they have preordered enough to vaccinate 100 million people not including the COVAX project orders (global vaccination campaign for third-world and developing countries) so a large enough safety margin considering there are 70 million people living across the country. First vaccination wave begins in January.
I may be crying behind my laptop. I'm just so happy. All I wanted for Christmas this year was a vaccine widely available. Sure, I'll have to wait until April to get it but at least my mother and stepfather can get vaccinated in a few weeks.
I'm totally crying. Tears and snotty nose.

I would like some advice.
So I decided to do a page of all the Zoom events we are doing this year: BINGO, Nutcracker, various holiday parties. I'll put a little info on the virus (or just cute graphics as how the hell we will forget this, I don't know).
Anyway, what would be a good title?
Can you think of anything?
And yay on the vaccine! I was just in a work meeting and it looks like they will be approving the vaccine on Dec. 10 and start vaccinating people shortly after.

Hello everyone. This is Bea. I am not sure you remember me. I haven't posted in almost a year. I stayed away from this thread until now on purpose. I am on a scrappy supplies freeze until I manage to create and sell lots of products in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. So far I only have three products. Not a good start. Anyhow, joblackford, thanks for the bingo cards. They are so fun. I will have to play with my family. sleepingbooty, your journaling inspiration is awesome as always. I love this years idea. And hooray for the vaccine in France. We're still stuck with #DiaperDon, so our progress has been hindered quite a bit. @northrigg, sorry about Stormy. 2020 is the gift that keeps on giving. Because no one can go out, or do anything, I am trying to come up with what to photograph. One of the things I am going to photograph are the happy news of the day. Yesterday it was a story of a wallaroo getting rescued by two fishermen in a fishing net. Very cute photos. And lastly, it feels really good to be back on this forum.
