I've never done a class like this so I'm not exactly sure what my game plan is. I guess I'm going to wing it with the first class and so what make sense in my head.

I'm late to the party on this thread, but I signed up - and so did my sister. We haven't seen each other for 7 months, so this will be a fun thing we can do together.
I'm feeling really unprepared though. It's hard to know what to expect. Some of the supply lists aren't there, and most of them just list out specific things they used. I wish more were like: you need 4 coordinating papers, and 2 different cardstock, and ribbon, or sequins, etc.
I know the idea is to create as you go with your own supplies, but in an hour, it's hard to know what to have close by. I'm a little disappointed in this, but it'll be fun regardless!

My plan is to sort of wing it. At this point I think I will just watch and learn, and then if I’m inspired to create, grab something then or do it on replay later.

I'm a little disappointed in this, but it'll be fun regardless! Some of the instructors list very specific items, but others have the more general lists. I am hoping I will be able to grab and go if I think I can create something along with the class, but as you say, we can always participate for the fun and excitement, and then create--or complete what we started--after the event is over.
I have some Ziploc bags that hold 12x12 papers. Think I will use have them ready so I can put my unfinished projects--or pieces I think I might need for UNSTARTED projects--for each class in a separate bag. That way I can come back to it later.
I'm sorry I scrapped my puppy pic's last week cuz it looks like the first class has ideas on how to scrap a pet (Cooper, by Bella Blvd). But I have other animal pic's I haven't scrapped, and although i don't have that particular line, I have several others, plus some dies I can see putting to use!
This evening they have a trial run at 5:00PM Pacific. The link is included in Alice's message today. Not sure if I will be able to join in. It will depend on when dh comes in from the field for supper.

I reviewed the schedule and I am going to try to at least listen in to all the classes. I have some regular page kits prepared that I can work on while I listen. I am going to prep for Victoria Marie's class because that one made the most sense with supplies to have on hand.
So I've kind of notched out 2 instructors each day I really want to maybe follow along with and the others I will just observe and take notes.
Like I am interested in the mini album ideas, but I am not going to work on an entire mini album in an hour.
Just hoping to get some inspiration and enjoy being around like-minded ppl!

Spent a little time on the trial session tonight. Still have to figure out how to do the chat function on ZOOM, how to switch from message to everyone to private message. And no idea how to move around on the gallery screen, because tonight I could see only the dozen or so people who signed on about the same time as I did. Heard you, crystalb ! and got your private note, justjac . Which other Peas were on tonight? Not sure how much chance there will be for chatting during the classes. Think I will set the ipad up on my scrapcounter and either scrap along, or listen to the classes in the background while I scrap something I want to do... Pay attention to the classes I really want to learn from.

I had to go into the office today so missed the practice call. There should be an arrow to the right when you hover over the gallery to scroll to the next page or if there is a presenter sharing their screen you can hover toward the bottom of the right hand side where the gallery is and there should be another arrow to go down and scroll through people.

I saw you grammadee! I am glad I did the practice since I have not had much experience with Zoom (we are google people here). I think I have the hang of it though. I also had to leave and come back as my headphones quit working! Let's hope I got all the kinks out!

I wasn’t able to make it on (doing other things). Hopefully I’ll get it all sorted Friday for the keynote. I usually zoom on my tablet (and have only hosted with just a few others but never as an attendee) but want to use my laptop for this to have a bigger screen to see the classes better. 😃

I missed the zoom tonight too. It was too early for me to get home from work.
Did anyone learning anything worth sharing? Any sneaks?

I was on the zoom!
We learned that the classes are prerecorded and condensed and we are not really meant to be scrapping along with them to complete a project. The instructors will be on to chat and answer questions while their video class plays.

The instructors will be on to chat and answer questions while their video class plays. I like the idea of pre-recorded, because when I watch live videos the “instructor” spends the first 10 minutes saying hi to everyone as they join, which drives me batty. I like that we can watch the demo, and the instructor is separately monitoring chat and answering questions vs that interrupting the process and getting it off track. Best of both I guess. Did they say if there is much of a break between classes? I know there’s a built-in lunch break.

She said something about trying to keep the classes at 50 minutes, so I guess there would be a short 10 minutes in between. It seems like it will be a good experience, it made me more excited for it. I like the idea of just kind of listening and taking notes. Also the content will be available to refer back to, so you could also always make a note of the time stamp. Hopefully I can manage to work on some other pages while listening and not get overly distracted by either!

I got online and looked up the class supply lists. I made kits for each class out of what I had on hand. The class taught by Sara about stamping was very specific and I figured I'd just watch that one. I'm getting excited. The hubby is taking all the kids camping so it's just me at home. I hope I can stay focused on scrapping and get some work done instead of wandering off to other parts of the house and doing other tasks that need to get done. I'm looking at you basket of unmatched socks.

Hey! It's starting today!
I just wanted to wish you all a great scrappy weekend - Have an absolute blast and come back Smarter! I'd love it if you'd share your thoughts and share your projects here. With so many great teachers, what ideas were new, or new to you, or just incredibly inspirational?

I too would love a detailed report! I am *this* close to joining in the fun. I KNOW it will be fun. For the Cdn peas: is that price USD? I just looked at my money and thought I'd prefer to spend it on actual supplies (if I find that extra money to begin with ) but this one was really hard to pass up.

I think it is in USD. My sister and I both signed up to do it together. She's in Canada, and I'm in the US. I think the value is there though, with the names, number of classes, and content - and the fun!
I'm tempted to Join the site in general. But it's hard to know whether to take the plunge sight unseen. Anyone a member of Scrap Happy? Reviews?

For me, it’s worth the money just for the Layout a Day challenge because I do all three month long ones plus the week long summer mini. There’s also monthly get togethers on Zoom: Happy Hour, Scrap Smarter, Scrapbook Live. Some of those are free to the public but I’m not sure which ones. There’s also a monthly sketch challenge. It’s a very positive supportive group of people. You’re right. Prices are in USD.

550 people signed up - that’s a good amount of revenue for probably not much overhead!

Just finished the first session. She is a very energetic speaker and I like that she urges people to enjoy the process rather than create the perfect page. She asked us to spell SMART, with each letter representing a word about scrapbooking.
I wrote: Savor Memories And Relive Them. Hers were more generic to her process: keep it Simple/Make it count/Action/Remember (and another R word--something that means loving the experience?/Tell stories.
How would you use those letters to highlight scrapbooking for you?

Stacy really is energetic. I filled a page of notes. A for Action resonated with me! I need to just do it and not worry about it. I also liked that Alice talked about not having to do anything chronologically. For me I always worried about finishing a layout and then coming across another photo later that I thought should have been included. I also add Relax to R. Stop pressuring myself.

I enjoyed tonight’s session and took a bunch of notes. Finding out that you can search your phone pictures using a word just floored me! I didn’t know it was “smart” enough to categorize them like that!
Really looking forward to the next two days!

What are you looking forward to the most today? I want to play with that sketch in Kristina Sorge's handout. Also the page that Victoria Marie has on her handout looks fun.
Maybe I will start pulling out some photos & papers now...
