So I am seeing all these posts that Ellen's show may be canceled or that she wants it to end.
And then Ellen took off the ability to comment on her posts.
Did I miss something?

You’ve missed like 5 months of allegations against her.

You’ve missed like 5 months of allegations against her. Wow. Anywhere to start? I used to follow her but went on a big delete mission few months ago. And I only check news for certain things.

I never pay attention to the pop up salacious stories about celebrities. I've heard nothing about her being in any legal jeopardy or wanting to stop her show. Guess we'll find out eventually.

Glancing over this stuff once in a while I gleaned that her executive producers have been pretty toxic and Ellen is very hands off and says she had no idea what was going on.

This isn’t new. People have made claims about her and her show not being very nice for a long time now. It’s just in the past few months people have started to listen and take those claims seriously.

I’m not convinced that she’s a proponent of “be kind” and had no clue how her producers were treating the employees. That kind of stuff comes from the top down. Did she never notice employees wouldn’t look or speak to her? People who want to have a positive environment notice the tension when it’s not happening. I’ve seen enough of her shows to know she’s not as nice as she claims. The interview with Dakota Johnson was a perfect example of trying to gaslight that blew up in her face. A lot of her reactions to her pranks on guests feels malicious.

Things really started rolling when a guy on Twitter asked people to post their horror stories about working for her, their interactions with her, etc. I’m sure some of the stories were exaggerated or just people having fun, but there were plenty of reputable people who started to come forward and say that she is notoriously hard to work with, her upper level staff created a toxic environment, etc. Basically, this fun loving persona of someone who loves to dance, play pranks, and “be kind” is bullshit.

I have heard rumors of what a bitch she is for years and years. She's one of those that no one is supposed to make eye contact with her on the set. Quite a few guests on her show have said over the years that she is a bitch and wouldn't talk to them. This is not new, just being talked about out in the open now. If what people are saying is true I am glad it is finally being exposed.

I always wondered why the things she does with her guests were considered funny. She pits one against the other physically. She presses buttons while they scream and drop who knows how many feet. I don't think it's funny at all.

I’ve only caught bits and pieces of her show a few times so I’m not a regular watcher. I do feel like some of her pranks have an edge to them, and hit people where they are vulnerable, and she seems to like that. That tells me something about her.
I’ve seen stories for a while about her attitude and not wanting people to look at her or speak to her. But the stories are ramping up a great deal and some bigger name people are backing them up now.

"Be kind to one another" is her motto but she doesn't seem to walk her talk. And I agree, the things she finds funny, scaring the crap out of her guests, gives me the creeps.

I agree. I feel like she’s very mean spirited with many of her pranks and jokes. I enjoyed her show for the first few years. Then I noticed a marked increase in the pranks. I've never been a fan of pranks and the ones on her show are especially mean. I stopped watching after year 3 and never have missed it. It's a shame though that fame seems to have gotten to her head.

I used to like her show, but in the last several years she just seems to talk over her guests and doesn't seem particularly interested in what they have to say. I was not surprised to read about the allegations against her. I hope she uses this to make herself better because she played such a big role in paving the way for gay actors.

I don't think she started out this way but as her popularity and success has grown, so has her meanness. She put out an apology the other day and I felt like she was trying to make herself a victim in all of this. It just felt weird when I read it.

We had to stop watching her game show because it seemed to get more malicious as time passed. It started out as a fun game show. Then it got more risky in my opinion. And it seemed as thought she got a high off of the contestants screams and pleas.

It seems that she has a pretty large streak of sadistic that runs through her personality.

I got turned off by her when I saw a clip of her sending a staffer to some horror house when the staffer was known to be terrified of them. I did not think it was funny. I thought it was mmalicious and sadistic. Later pranks and her game show confirmed that opinion of her.

I wouldn't miss her at all. I suppose her show started as a talk show, like most of them do, and then turned into a loud, screaming frenzy. I just don't get all of the L.O.U.D. I know I'm old, but it was nonstop. Don't get me started on that game show that they insist on running 5 nights a week. I forget that my TV is on NBC and can't find the remote fast enough when it comes on.
ETA- My mom used to watch her in the daytime. I had to start leaving to go "run errands" to get away from it. It wasn't me who watched- God no.

Here’s the rundown: she’s a bitch, she allows those who work for her to be assholes, to sexually harrass underlings, and looks the other way at any and all bad behavior by senior producers. People, including celebrities, have had enough.
none of this surprises me.

I've never really liked her talk show. I enjoy her standup & other stuff I've seen her in but something about the talk show always rubbed me the wrong way. And I cannot be bothered with that game show, but I feel that way about most game shows

I'm reluctant to say anything in her favor because a-I don't watch the show or know a thing about her and b-many here seems to be of the same opinion and I'm in no mood to get jumped. However, I'll just say that I've worked with well-known people for a long time and have seen the things people who don't know them say about them that are really wayyyyy off base, so I don't believe much of what I read in the media with this kind of stuff. As to not knowing about the whispers, are you kidding me? The last person who hears the gossip in these scenarios is the boss. The bigger the boss, the less they hear.
