I don't know why but I love talking about kit clubs, ha ha! So I thought it might be fun to ask how many layouts you get out of your kit club kits each month before you consider them killed. I know some people say their kits just pile up, but I LOVE them. I was making my own homemade kits, but i thought it might be fun to get subbed kits for awhile and see if I could use those up as well as I use up my homemade kits.
I tend to call a kit killed if I don't have enough papers (or embellishments) left for a layout without adding from my stash.
I currently belong to Cocoa Daisy, but I just started there recently. I got the September kit as a non subbie and I made 5 layouts with just the main kit. There was still a bit stuff left over, but I was done with the kit for now. I am now working with October's kit and I have 3 done and another almost done with loads left, but this month I got an embellishment add on and paper add on. I feel I could easily do another 4 or 5 layouts. I am really enjoying CD kits so I will probably stick around awhile with this sub. I feel I get good value from their kits.
Before Cocoa Daisy i was with Scraptastic, but I wanted a change up. With Scraptastic I probably made 5-7 layouts per kit, but I almost always got the add on.
I have also subbed to Freckled Fawn, which I loved, but that one is harder to quantify, IMO since it doesn't have papers in it, and I didn't use it like a regular kit.
I am always amazed when I see the You Tube kill a kit videos (which I LOVE BTW) even if I don't belong to the particular kit they do, when people make a HUGE stack of layouts. Nicole Jones comes to mind here...I think for her last kill a kit video she had 2 Scraptastic kits (with add ons) she made like 24 layouts....WOW!
So what about you? What kits do you get and how manyn layouts do you get per kit? Do you find this a good value?
