We went grocery shopping today. Our Publix has huge signs as you enter stating that they require masks while in the store. Aisles are 'one way only', and there are plenty of signs. Every single person who was going the wrong way up an aisle was either not wearing a mask or had it on under their nose or totally under their chin. Every. Single. One. Are they: A) Ignorant? B) Entitled? C) Just don't give a damn? D) Total Assholes? E) All of the above??
I vote for E.

It's E!
And they're the same people clamoring for all the schools to open F2F right now!

Definitely E!
And yeah, these are the same people who want kids in school f2f, and think everyone is making a bfd about a little flu.
Then in a few weeks, they'll be crying on tv when half their family is wiped out after a freaking bbq.

Well, I wear a mask when shopping, and I always go down the wrong aisle all the time. Plus I'm none of those things. I hope!! I think usually it's because I know where I'm going, so I skip an aisle, then go down the next one i need, so end up going the wrong way. There is only 1 arrow sign at the end of each aisle. not in the middle, so by the time I figure it out, it's too late. If I meet someone in the aisle I let them pass pulled over to the side.

I went into the grocery store Saturday morning for the first time since early April because they wouldn't curbside pick up a customized birthday cake... I had a hard time following the arrows because I forgot they were a thing. I actually didn't notice them until the store did one of their "ads" over the radio/intercom about social distancing. No one was in the aisle I went the wrong way on, and I might have cheated once because the aisle was empty and I didn't want to go all the way around and back up to something that I could see from the end of the aisle... I was wearing a mask.

Sorry, yes, face to face. Oh dear I should have been able to figure that out! I'm glad you asked! I wondered too. I knew it meant in person but was struggling with the F's.

I always wear a mask. I will sometimes dart down an aisle the wrong way that has no one in it if what I want is closer to the end I am currently at. Other times I don't see the arrows because I am looking at the top shelf for something.

Eh, I personally don’t understand the one way aisles. One of the stores I frequent has them, and the other doesn’t. Even when I’m in a store with those designations people are standing/wandering on both sides, so what’s the point 🤷🏼♀️

some stores here have one way aisles but a lot of the stickers are worn off or something. So one end will be the arrow and the opposite end has nothing, so if you're at that end you don't know if it's okay to go that way or not. But almost no one follows the arrows anyway. I do but sometimes if there are a lot of people in the aisle and what I need is near the end, I'll tiptoe in and get it real quick. And quietly back out.

I am guilty of going the wrong way in the aisle. I have been to the store 3 times in the last 4 months, and each time, I accidentally went the wrong way, forgetting about the arrows. I purposely went at a time the store was pretty quiet, so there was no one in the aisle at all.
I also had to make a quick unplanned stop at Walmart, and I didn't have my mask. I walked directly to what I needed, grabbed it, went to self check out, and left as fast as possible. There was no line anywhere, so I was in and out in 10 minutes. If I needed more than one thing, I would have bought a mask, or just skipped it.

I am not a fan of one-way aisles. Only one store I go to has them, and I forget to look down at the floor. I know what aisle I need and I go to that aisle. People are still passing each other in the one-way aisle. I'll go the wrong way (or back-up) if no one is in the aisle, and then I turn my cart around and face the right way.
Oh, and yes, I am an obedient mask wearer.

I’m in Southern California. My little city is observing the mask wearing. I went to the store on Thursday and everyone was masked up. But my husband and I still think we will be house-bound through next summer. Ugh. Good thing I have lots of hobbies and so does my husband.

i vote E on the mask wearing. as far as the arrow directions on the floor, i've never seen people observe those. so much so that our supermarkets (except for trader joes) has removed those arrows. other places that have them have people going willy nilly. personally, i don't care if people don't observe the arrows. the mask, however, should be non-negotiable.

But I do wear my mask correctly and I adjust when I notice I am going the wrong way

Um (she said embarrassedly), me too. If the signs are obvious, I totally follow them, but SO many times they are not obvious. Like why don't they put them right at the beginning of the aisle? And then they're on the floor! I don't look at the floor. But I wear my mask and I shop very early and I don't encounter too many people as I go once every two weeks. If I see someone coming down the aisle in a different direction than I am, I quickly look at the floor to situate myself. Usually I am correct because I start on the entry aisle and go up and down, but I don't blame people who aren't. I just don't shop enough to remember what 40 years of not doing it ingrained in me. But I am super careful to keep distance and mask.

The biggest problem I have seen are the employees not wearing masks. Today Store 1: 4/5 had masks around neck including the manager. Store 2: 3/4 had no masks at all including the manager. My workplace: I am the only one in a mask.
And this in a Florida city with a mask mandate (but no enforcement).

E. And sadly they are also E for EVERYWHERE. My Target took it’s one way aisles out. No one paid attention to them anyways, and they were just frustrating for those of us who did.
