We visited in June 1999 (but not Solstice) and when we took our kids back in 2015 (I think). The first time, I remember it being so magical. So surreal. The 2nd time... they had changed the way you got to the stones and had a whole visitor center and stuff, and it felt a lot more commerical. It was still cool AF, but it felt more "real" the first time....

I was there 3 years ago. They didn’t let us get very close, but it was still very impressive. The stones are huge!

Interesting article. I’ve been to England twice, but have never made it to Stonehenge. I would love to go some day.

I was there a few years ago. We were on a special tour after the site closed at nite and we were allowed to go right up to the stones and stand right by them. It was one for the bucket list.
anyone that’s interested, when you book your tour look for one that says it allows access to the inner circle. Those tours are at sunrise and sunset.

We did that as well. It was really special! DH and I arrived a bit early and the security guard let us enter so we were literally the only two people there for 20 minutes or so.

We were there in 2003 on our first trip overseas. We went first thing in the morning. It was smaller than we expected but definitely worth going.

When we were there it was summer soltice and they wouldn't let our tour in, said it was closed because they had too many problems on that day. We had to view it from the road.
