The more I think about this, the more it makes me a little angry. The utter lack of imagination is to the point that it is almost insulting. Evidently her stuff must sell well? I've bought some of her lines but I don't scrap a lot of dainty feminine pages so I haven't used much of what I've bought. I've seen a lot of the pages the rest of you do and not a lot of them fit that aesthetic, either. So why do they keeping cranking out the same thing over and over? Either cut out the roses, bows, and swans, or keep them and come up with a different color scheme. Show a little imagination. I think her aesthetic might work well for baby pages, so why doesn't she come up with a baby blue line? Anything new, really. There is this new group of paper crafters I call them the "happymail" crafters. They love MH. They are not making cards or scrapbooks but a lot of pretty banners and boxes and clusters of ephemera. Its them who they design for, so everything can match and they can mix different MH lines, don't need a specific theme as long its pretty. That would explain it. I need to look these crafters up. I know I haven't been seeing many scrapbook pages using MH.

The directions presented to the designer as I imagine them: "Transform that lemon into a pear. Now switch out that peacock for a duck. And let's flip that deer into a deer facing the other way. And for the crowning touch, let's make that rose pink. No, the other pink. Done!"

It's very underwhelming, isn't it? I'm well and truly over this aesthetic.

I thought those were nuts 🤣😂🤣😂 I think they look more like peaches. I only figured out they were supposed to be lemons because of the very characteristic citrus blossom.

I just looked up "happymail" on Instagram and saw exactly what you were talking about. I wonder what they do with all the pretty little things they make? I think (maybe) they send them to each other, to decorate *their* planners, and their craft rooms, etc. maybe?? I know pocket letters are kind of like that, too- make art and decorative things that fit inside baseball card page protectors, and send them via swaps to each other. (I did that for a while, but I was never using any of the stuff that was sent to me-- it just wasn't my style-- so I quit.) Same old same old Please tell me why it’s called Marigold when there are roses and not Marigolds?? Colour me confused now, using *actual* marigolds would have at least made it interesting! maybe a line with some actual REAL-looking flowers-- marigolds, zinnias, hollyhocks, a garden toad or snail, something like that. not a fawn, peacock, or owl, or these stylized nuts/peaches/lemons (whatever they are)... haha! wait, I think I just figured it out: they draw them that way so you can interpret them however you want, lol!! and yeah, I agree with artbabe : I'm kind of angry that the big companies company (singular, since AC is the behemoth that it is, sadly) think(s) so little of us, the people who (supposedly) purchase their stuff, that they will just rearrange a few elements here and there and call it done. And since this stuff is now for sale in the big-box stores, more and more of it will sell, which means they'll just make MORE of it. blech.

GAAACK! You all have already said it, but this is feeling condescending ("I'll bet we can get them to buy this again"). Are these all the cast-off drawing versions from the last couple lines? Or are they actually the same images with slightly different colors? No matter, I am really DONE with this particular set of drawings. And I am actually one who really liked MG Sunny Days.
It's scrapbooking, it is supposed to be a CREATIVE hobby! Using this all again for the umpteenth time again is NOT creative.

I definitely like the muted pink much more. Her lines always feel too formal, sophistacted, and flowery for me.

I think they look more like peaches. I think so too. I think they are peaches...it looks like these peach trees, and the leaves are really close. It also looks like peach blossoms, but generally you don't get peaches and blossoms at the same time. Regardless, it's not a freaking Marigold or even close. Stupid AC. www.thespruce.com/how-to-grow-and-care-for-peach-trees-4589455

That looks a lot like citrus blossom and the skin on the fruit has that ribbled texture like lemons that are still ripening. But I can see AC mixing and matching fruit and flowers to get "creative" like when they swap a white swan out for a black swan in a MH collection.

Upon reflection, I think azcrafty is correct. I believe AC has purposely decided to focus on continuity for the Maggie Holmes lines so people can mix and match indefinitely. I don't believe they think we're stupid and don't notice or will keep blindly buying. Those who enjoy this aesthetic will appreciate the predictability and keep happily purchasing it. Others might buy a piece or two and move along looking for other inspiration. Meanwhile, we'll keep discussing what we want in forums such as this in the hope that designers are listening and planning to surprise us. P.S. Designers, if you want to surprise me, words other than Hello, Dream, and Believe in every single collection would be astonishing. "Until we meet again" would be a nice sentiment for these Covid times and beyond.

Oh, well blah!
I let myself get excited at the thread title, thinking that with a name like Marigold, it would have vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds.
Not pastel leftovers.
I'll pass.

While I am not interested in lines that look THAT much the same (same drawings!), I suppose maybe some people are (or it's cost effective to try?) I certainly am one who likes it when lines work together (Shimelle is a major one for this) so I can mix and match them, but I guess I could see where AC went full-on matchy-matchy with this.
It's interesting, because other times when Crate Paper has done this I DO like it (many CP winter/Christmas lines did this with much success--FaLaLa, Merry Days, Snowflake, Snow and Cocoa, their new upcoming Xmas line, etc.) but those already share a theme, and the MH lines COULD have different vibes and still work together (doesn't nearly all MH still work together anyway?)--like mixing Sunny Days and Here&There and Chasing Dreams. I guess to me those are all distinct lines but still MH.
I hope this "highly matching" is more for the pandemic though, and we will see more variety in the future.

If you love her past collections you will probably like this but personally I don’t need more deer, swans,, owls and her florals.

I guess I am weird, but I like Maggie Holmes stuff and I like Marigold. I like it because I can mix and match it with other lines. I ordered a lot of it. I have some of her last few lines and plan on using it with Marigold to scrapbook some family pictures that were taken recently.

Not a huge fan of this and don’t see myself buying much- if any. I did buy Magical Forest but I have boys - and one is a toddler - it has worked good for some of his baby photos and other layouts like that.
So I was looking at SC old creative team galleries and Maggie did some really awesome pages with more masculine colors and themes. I would love to see a line from her that tends more masculine/traditional boy colors etc. I think it would work good for girls too who don’t tend to be as “girly”... I mean these lines are just overly feminine IMO.

I have 2 girls...but I am SO over the bows and deer. Some of the B sides are neutral enough to use but besides that, it's a pass for me.

I agree... but hmmm... Groundhog Day-- maybe you've just hit on the next 'it' animal! groundhogs! They're kinda cute, and hey, if you put a top hat and glasses on them, they'll be all ready for papercrafting! (just like every other random animal they choose, loL!)

Nope.
