How awesome!!! She's almost there! Before you know it, she'll be fleeing the nest too. Yes! I know a lot of people have struggled with Covid and SAH orders but it has really helped DD. We quite MEND, she went on Home Hospital, and rejoined school in April after spring break. Since mid January she has been able to rest her soul and mind and spirit. And she has matured. A lot! She still has not so good days BUT we are able to talk. Hardly ever does she get loud and too emotional. (I hate to say that but she can get very very emotional and that gets in her way of proper communication). She will start at a community college and then transfer out. I told her she is always welcome to live at home if her 4 yr Uni is local. I stayed home until my last quarter. And that home is always here for her. That is so wonderful to hear. It's quite funny because I have heard a lot of those with mental and physical challenges have actually thrived since Covid started. It has surely been the case for my son and myself. I am glad to hear your DD has found it to be a time to bloom as well.

Not sure where we will go..maybe Red Robin, maybe Pi Craft (you 'make' your own pizza) or Carabbas. Our inside seating is still at 50% and we'd eat outside but it's raining LONG day....my mammogram was fine but they found something on my friend's. We had just gotten our delicious salads at Carabbas. Anyhow we had to go back and she had another scan. It's all good...praise god.

well, I have some cooked chicken, so I could make one of those rice mixes with chicken and veggies. Or pick up a pizza. Our mini chicken sliders last night were a hit. We have bats around here. For a couple of years (only for a few months right around this time of year, Aug-Sept) I had one nesting right above my front door. The second one would eat crickets every night on my little tile table by the front door. I would have to clean up cricket legs and disinfect the table every morning. Then one night I guess he was feeling satiated and he left a headless cricket on the table (all other body parts were intact). That was pretty much the limit of my patience. Sorry for being gross. @sunnycamom, yay for DD! She is growing up for sure. jeremysgirl, I am off to find your other thread, but meanwhile, I’m happy for your son and sorry about your DD.

I thawed chicken out and when I get home from work I’ll marinate it in cilantro and lime for an hour and grill it. Probably will throw some veggies on the grill too and have a spinach salad with strawberries.

I will make a chicken cordon bleu and vegetables I mean the vegetables are unprocessed, right? EVOO and salt and pepper. The chicken not so much. I am on the Nteenth day of no sleep and 2 hours isn’t sleep😢. There is nothing I can take that isn’t habit forming. At the moment I am only addicted to iced tea and I drink that at 7 am. It’s very good. I tried to get it in the States but it was unsweetened. This is not sweet tea. It’s lemony and delicious!

I finally got around to making the Glass Potatoes from a recipe that AllieC shared aaaaaaaaages ago. They were AMAZING! Thanks Allie. I also made Marion Grasby's Balinese Coconut Turmeric Chicken, but I cheated and used her store-bought marinade. jeremysgirl - once again congratulations to your son on his exciting news. I'm sorry that your daughter wasn't able to celebrate his achievements too. Your message to her is spot on, and I hope she takes it on board.

@sunnycamom, I have 2 seniors in college. As happy as I am for them, boy do I feel old. We were told that ods would thrive once he went away to school. He stayed home for his first 2.5 years and then left for college. His grades went way up and he is on his way to becoming a history teacher. When they have to mature you'd be surprised how well they can do. WTG, to your dd.

That was what I made for dinner. I don’t know why it’s sideways. Dinner was good!

sueg, that's some expensive yarn. Are they spinning gold? It is hand-dyed silk/wool from Switzerland. It was really pretty, and it is for a sleeveless top with a cardigan to match, so more yarn needed than for a regular sweater, but still. I've had a look online and found an English silk/wool (same composition, and looks really similar) which is less than half the price. Still not cheap - silk is an expensive fiber - but reasonable. Sounds very pretty. I'd love to see the finished product.

As I have lost a bot of weight lately, and need to lose at least another 10kg, I am not investing a lot of money in clothing, especially hand knits, right now
