Today was the ACOT warehouse sale that I was going to go to as a reward for making 50 page kits from my existing stash. This evening also was my Family's big Thanksgiving dinner with my parents before they head south. We have a large family and I needed to do a lot of cooking and was making the turkey so I ended up deciding not to go to the sale. About noon, on my way to town to pick something up, a lady blew through a red light at the intersection less than a mile from home and hit me. We have this lovely thing in Michigan called No Fault Insurance. It's cheaper than full coverage but virtually insures that if you have an accident at the hands of someone else you will be able to recover no more than $500. The van was 15 years old but in beautiful condition, however, the value of the van did not justify full coverage, so I have PLPD (no fault). I also now have a van that has a smashed passenger side door. I loved my van at 11:50 am. Now it's ugly . Lol. Seriously, no one was hurt, so that's the bright side. Moral of the story: if I had gone to the sale I wouldn't have been at that intersection at noon. I will never miss another warehouse sale again.

Oh, that's a crummy day! I'm sorry you were hit by a reckless driver. I'm glad you are OK, though! Perhaps you need to do a tiny bit of online shopping the next time a good sale at your favourite store comes up, as a form of therapy.

And I happily clicked this thread, all set to live vicariously (and jealously) thru you . . . I will admit, my first thought was indeed 'See! If you had gone to the sale . . . ' This, of course, is because you are obviously OK or you wouldn't be posting. I hope at least you had a lovely dinner with your family. And on a serious note, I am very glad you weren't hurt. Like ashley said, I'm thinking a little retail therapy might be in order . . . Take some Advil before you go to bed tonite - you will probably be sore tomorrow morning.

You missed a sale, have a dented van, and dishes to clean up.....and you still have a sense of humor! Glad you were not hurt. That is all that matters.

That's awful. Glad you're okay. My car was rear-ended a couple of months ago. I, too, was a little sore but fortunately I was able to walk it off. Hope you can too, And I agree with the others. Take that money you would have spent at the sale and buy yourself some nice scrappy goodies. You deserve it.

oh no, so glad you are ok!! Thats one sale I would LOVE to go to! I just placed a big order with them last night, I would love to see everything in person. Get some rest and I think retail therapy sounds like a good idea

Is your van a Honda Odyssey? Just thinking about 15 year old vans and how the Honda is the only one I can think of from that era that still looks okay and is probably still running great (that's because I have one!).
Sorry yours got bruised, glad you are okay. That insurance stuff stinks.
