My ic4 bike (budget peloton type bike) FINALLY came and I did my first ride this morning, but I think I am going to need a different seat. I have a prodigious bottom and the one on the bike is fine, but I do think I need something a bit wider. I remember reading on other threads that people got different seats, but there weren’t any specific recommendations. Does anyone have any links to share?
TIA

I would go to a bike shop. They can measure the distance between your sits bones to get a good bike seat fit.

They have this thing you sit on and it leaves an impression of your sits bones so they can measure from it.
I don't know anything about indoor bikes, but if you can use regular bike saddles I would suggest a Selle Italia Diva. Very comfortable and has a cutout in the middle to relieve pressure.

I was kidding. I don’t think a regular seat would work, but I like the idea of a hole in the middle. Thank you.

I replaced my peloton seat with a regular road bike seat that is the right size for my sitz bones...made all the difference in the world!

I wasn't sure I just got a new bike last week and I'm having saddle issues, so I feel your pain!

I have a peloton. You have to sit all the way back on the seat with a ‘good handful’ hanging off the back!! It took about two weeks of pain until my butt stopped hurting. It’s very common if you’re new to spinning. You can buy gel seat covers or padded shorts. I don’t have either and I’m used to it. I rode for two hours this morning with no pain.

I would suggest just trying the seat it came with for awhile. Everyone’s booty hurts/is sore for up to 1-2 weeks depending how often you ride if you are not used to it. I mean my rear hurt BAD. Lol. But then it went away and I don’t have any issues with the peloton seat.
That said, some people do get a different seat or gel seat but I don’t know it’s really needed. Good luck!

Seconding the advice to power through a couple weeks without buying a gel or padded saddle. What really needs to happen is your body has to adjust to riding.
Gel & padding can get hard and lumpy with use/age anyway. You're better off just getting your butt used to riding.
A saddle that fits you properly is great (it's a godsend, actually), but that's different than buying a padded seat cuz your butt is sore.

I don’t know that my butt is sore, it is just so damned uncomfortable from the moment I sit down, it just doesn’t feel right. I have ridden outdoor bikes before quite a bit and never had this problem. The seat is much different then the one on my outdoor bike though, I will try a bit longer but it just doesn’t feel right. I read a lot of reviews before buying the Ic4 and the seat was a very common complaint. Most people replaced it or got a cover for it.
