Hello everyone!! How is everyone doing? I thought today I would do just a general check in/vent/share time/question time/whatever goes!! ha.
I ordered that VitC serum Patter I think it was? recommended? I am using it like 3xs a wk. I LOVE the smell of it. I actually think I see that dark spot on my face getting lighter? it could just be me though. I've been using it for about 3 wks. I use it other places also. I am now officially in menopause. No period for 1 yr and month. So that's all done with. Next wk I have my yrly mammo. joy. I hate getting old. I don't feel old mentally. I feel like 30. I feel old physically some days! esp last wk my knee and my thumbs were bothering me. I may have to unfriend/unfollow some relatives on facebook until after the elections. ohh lordy.
that's it for me!! whine whine! haha

I am glad you like the serum. I really love it as you know. I am in menopause too, and it's now that I have literally seen the weight shift to my mid-section. So instead of being pear-shaped, I am a blob. I read the book Fast. Feast. Repeat by Gin Stephens, and I LOVED the book. I have lost 8.8 lbs. since June 30th. I will weigh again tomorrow so hoping to pass the 10 lb. mark. I already feel better. My brain is about 33 but my body aches. I have osteoarthritis and had back surgery for it in January. I don't want to continue to go downhill so I am changing to a healthier lifestyle. I getup and go too much. I don't want to be down at 55!

We are on Day 7 of a power outage due to damage from Isaias and people are just apoplectic because of rate increases that doubled or more our rates over last month, and the storm repairs have been at a virtual standstill until yesterday for some reason.
That being said, we are right now on our way to Maine to spend three days at the beach before doing early move in of DS’s stuff into his college apartment. So I am blissfully happy that I won’t have to heat up water in pitchers for my shower and we’ll have AC! And hopefully we’ll return home to find our power restored.

Ugh - I just bought a new herbal supplement at the drug store to see if that will help with menopausal symptoms. Hot flashes I can deal with. The irritability and restless sleep I cannot. This was the one supplement that mentioned both on the label instead of just "other symptoms related to menopause" so I'll give it a whirl.
Our hot tub finally got installed Wednesday, and I was really hoping a nightly soak would relax me for sleeping. But I'm still restless at night. Ugh.
I'm back at WW - I had been doing really well with it, and then Covid hit and I seriously ate everything. It was definitely Covid-25 for me!
But a friend has a BEachbody membership, so every morning we Zoom and are working our way through the 100 Morning Meltdown series. We just did workout 25 today. So far so good! And last week I was down 6 pounds, I hope tomorrow will see a woosh, since last week my period started before weigh in. And that's always good for a few pounds lol!

Ok keep in mind I'm in Canada so availability between countries is probably different. But the brand is femMED Menopause Relief. It is Canadian manufactured. It contains dong quai (angelican sinensis root powder), Damiana (trnera diffuse leaf powder), Partridge Berry, pomegranate, motherwart, schizandra, and black cohosh. So we shall see!

I now drink coffee on the wkends, but I don't use those sugar laden creamers. I just use half and half. During the summer I find it harder to do. I like to have a rootbeer float, or ice cream around 8pm, and I shouldn't be eating anything after 7. I need to start up with it again.

I started on a med for hot flashes and I use Pristiq. My middle area is expanding and it bugs me. I have started to exercise again which is good. I have recently lost 6# but don’t know how. I do snack but don’t like sweet anymore. I am all about the salty.

I'm 50, 51 in October and I think I'm in peri-menopause. Periods have become irregular, this one starting 3 weeks after my last. Google is not my friend at this time - it puts so much other worry in my head! I'm in stage 4 lockdown - I can go out for healthcare but I'm going to wait a few weeks and go to the Dr. for a blood test to confirm/discuss. Did you all start menopause with irregular cycles or spotting?

I am struggling with middle aged? menopause? pandemic stress?...... weight gain. I've put on ten-ish pounds since mid-March.
I am struggling to get back on track. Smaller portions. No snacking. Better food choices. Move more, eat less, sit around less. Was off work for two months. Now back to work very part time. Stress makes me snack.
I stopped buying snacks and junk food type stuff, so it's not in the cupboard or freezer(ice cream). Making list of my meals for the day, so I only eat that.

BUT yrs before I had break thru bleeding between them, and then the yr before my period I had loooong periods, like 19-14 days. Which caused me to have anemia, and cause some heart problems. They never ever associated this with me going in to menopause, so they ran me thru the gamut of tests. Looking back, it was probably a waste of time and money, because my crappy insurance didn't pay any of it. So it put extra stress on us. When I just think it was menopause. Along with a huge jump in my cholesterol, which again, is another menopause side effect. it sucks! Then one month, I didn't get my period...and never did again. so weird. I'm not anemic anymore, and my heart troubles have leveled out. I get my cholesterol checked next wk. knock on wood.

At least your anemia and heart troubles have gotten better now.

NicL thank you. And I was in perimenopause many, many years earlier than I knew. Heck, I was even having hot flashes and didn't know what they were for years. I guess for that I am thankful but I am still having them even in menopause. Oh well. I am sure I have had hot flashes for 10 years now. Ick! And my period became irregular; no spotting.

So, I'm 61. I began working out and doing some running (run/walk mix - I can't run more than 1/4 mile!) and lost almost 30 pounds - was in the best shape of my life. Maintained until age 56, then changed jobs and my gym and have gained it all back. Mentally, I'd say I'm late 30's, but physically, I'm feeling more the 61. Part of me wants to try to get back to the active lifestyle, but with this whole Covid thing, I stay home and just don't. I kind of feel that at 61, I don't have to try to be a size 8 - a size 10 or 12 is fine. I know what has to be done, I just don't have the energy to do it!

I use acupuncture for my hot flashes. One treatment stops the heat for a few months. My stomach is always bloated. I have a severe digestive disease and w/two medical devices implanted in my abdomen as well as the bloat I give up ever trying to get a bikini body. I couldn't overeat even if I wanted to, but that doesn't mean I look like I'm 90 lbs. Mentally, I feel much younger than I am. Physically, I am much older. Are we at that age? Waking up on this side of the ground is a win.

Do I really need to be a size 10-12 anymore? eh, not really. Plus like you said, I just do.not.have.the.energy. I take my vitamins, I work a full time job, I come home and cook dinner, and all the other home stuff. I work with girls in their 20s,30s, and they go out after work to bike and run. I'm like hell no. I just hope I make dinner!

I wanted to go off it because of the weight gain but my doctor put me on Vyvance and it's working well. I can take it with the Prestiq and it's really helping with my eating and also my concentration. I never thought I had ADD but as I get older staying on task is harder and harder.

I don’t think it’s about being a small size. I think it’s about staying healthy. I don’t care what size I am but I was the heaviest I’ve been since I had variate I’ve surgery almost 20 years ago. I didn’t feel good, I didn’t have any energy. I’ve been try to get in 30+ minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week and get at least 10,000 or more steps a day plus intermittent fasting daily. It’s not always easy but I feel better and have more energy.

So I have reached quite the milestone - we just put a deposit on a new home being built in a 55+ development in the next state over. We are so excited about it -- we love the house, the property, and the community. We never thought we would want to live in one but this one is great and we can't wait to go!

I have gained 8 pounds since my lowest weight in March. If I wasn't working out so much, I would be up 20. I need to get back on my healthy eating. Baby steps. I am doing a class at our gym 3 mornings a week. I do one workout with my trainer a week. I usually walk 3.5 miles 5-6 days a week. I really enjoy the working out. I feel better. I feel stronger.
I hate that my weight gain has shifted to my midsection. So difficult to get it off. I just became a grandmother on July 1, and I want to be healthy for my granddaughter.
