Do you still have your gallbladder? No, but interesting. I think the pain is different? Sharper?? Seven hours is a long time. DH is extremely lactose intolerant and I can't ever recall his symptoms lasting for more than a few hours. Are you getting cramps in the center of your stomach or sides? Do you have a fever? No fever. Shivers and sweats. It feels like a band around my stomach. Thanks to all for advice!!! It is hard being on my own. Don’t want to bug kids and my sister,s bday is today. She’s too far away to do anything, but at least I could cry on her shoulder. I really appreciate all your thoughts. I’ll let you all know what’s going on if I ever get out! Or get called back!

Really Red... it's a weird kind of pain. Mine felt like my diaphragm was cramping up. I also had deferred pain above my right eyebrow. It was excruciating pain for hours. I even called the on call doctor at the emergency room for advice (2nd attack). First attack I wanted my DH to take me to the ER, but there was a snow storm, so couldn't travel. My trigger was white wine. Maybe yours is milk products. Hope you get answers soon. It took about 4 weeks to get me into surgery for gall bladder removal.

Update 2 I didn’t think about the gallbladder. I heard that’s more of a sharp pain. Mine is tightness and cramping. In an case I made the difficult decision to go to the hospital. I have been here waiting over 3 hours. Wish I stayed home☹️ Update This does not feel normal. At what point would you go to the hospital? OK, I’m pretty sure I’m lactose intolerant. I had bowl of cereal with not even a quarter cup one percent milk I am miserable. The pain in my stomach is intense. I am never putting dairy down me again. I am drinking chamomile tea with ginger in it. What else can I do? I walked around for a while but I can’t do it anymore. Please help. My gall bladder attacks were tightness and cramping. It felt like I was in a vice, all the way around my diaphragm, like a giant rubber band.

It kind of sounds like when I had my appendix out. The pain started early in the morning and was unlike anything else I had ever experienced--and I've also had my gallbladder out. A fever didn't show up until much later in the day, when I had already been admitted to the hospital. I hope you get some answers and treatment soon! It sucks being miserable and all alone.

My gall bladder attacks had me vomiting and lying on the bathroom floor in pain.
You did the right thing to go in. A blocked bile duct (by a stone) is very serious.

You need to stay there until they image you. I’m not sure about the differences between pancreatitis and gallstone pancreatitis, but pancreatitis can be serious. Really, really serious. My normally healthy aunt died from it a few years ago.
I’m so glad that you went in when you didn’t start feeling better. Please take care of yourself!

They should give you some pain medicine and a warm blanket. Why are you just sitting in a hallway? Sometimes a person needs iv antibiotics before a surgeon will remove the gallbladder, in this case.

You need to stay this time! You have a potentially life threatening condition.
I hope you are on the mend soon.
Hospitals are overwhelmed right now. DH is in the ER receiving IV antibiotics in the hope they'll have a room for him tonight. Other patients are being sent to other hospitals. He is very medically complex and they agree, he needs to be a the University hospital. And, things are not even bad with COVID in Minnesota!

Oh my goodness. Sorry you are going through this and the service is not so up to par. Hope they get their stuff together soon and you will be on your way to a successful surgery and fast recovery. Praying for you.
