I've been really into using my Silhouette more for card making and was wondering if you have any favorite cut files which work well for cards? I've found a few of the free paper issues files work well just sized down, and I've been using thick fonts to cut words to make shaker windows. My favorite new font is Kitten Slant, and it's free. I just made a card with it and posted on Instagram. If you'd like to check it out, I'm mylittlepaperaddiction.

lovestocreate, your card is really cool. I love shaker cards. I usually use cut images on cards because I'm stamping-challenged. I like the free files at Miss Kate's Cuttables and I love the Doodlebug files at Design Studio. I have been collecting for years so I have a lot from which to choose. LOL

That’s a fun shaker, lovestocreate ! Are you mainly looking for sites with free files? I have downloaded a lot of designs from the Silhouette Design Store. One of my recent favorites is the wave card from there (sorry it came out so big). It would probably be easy to make your own with your Silhouette. I made the flip flop shakers from Queen & Co. dies. The wave at the bottom is where the card opens. It’s really nice for a summer card. You could put shells on the beach, or a beach umbrella, etc. I’ve found a lot of fun card cutting files at the Silhouette Design Store. It’s one reason that I have a subscription there. They don’t have a lot of shaker cards, but Lori Whitlock (one of their designers) has a lot of different types of cards that she sells there as well as on her own site. Because I have a subscription, though, I get them for a better price than on her website. MyScrapChick has some fun card cutting files. Once a week she offers a free file. It may be a card, or a box, or something else, but free is free, and her designs are cute. I bought a lot of her box card files when she had a dollar sale (which is fairly often). I also like SVG Cuts. Theirs tend to be a bit more involved to assemble, though.

I don’t have an electric cutting machine...someday!

lovestocreate check out this blog. She lists the sizes of everything she cuts out for cards! You could make a bunch of your own cards without having to figure out measurements.

BTW, refugeepea, I giggle every time I see your hair in your avatar. I changed it at the beginning of this quarantine/pandemic. It seemed fitting.
