She used to be one of my favorites. I started Project Life in 2012 and Saturday mornings were reserved for a cup of coffee and watching the Saturday PL video on the Two Peas channel. I was always extra excited when it was Amy because she didn’t take it so serious. She made mistakes and showed you how to fix it without starting over. She used lots of bright color instead of the white, white, white with blown out b&w photos. Then she decided to jump on the influencer bandwagon and I just had to give her up. Now she’s more planner focused and that’s not my jam.

I haven't liked many of her scrapbooking lines lately but I just got a bunch of papers from her Late Afternoon collection and they are gorgeous! Great color depth and I love the patterns! I picked mine up here (Canadian store) treasuredmemories.ca/collections/late-afternoon

Sitting with lisacharlotte Used to enjoy her fun style, then the “influencer” took over. I unfollowed after the popsicles ad. So staged and phony. Haven’t bought her lines in years but I do like some pieces of the recent Late Afternoon line needtime2scrap linked. Still surprised AC keeps designers around like AT who have distanced themselves from scrapbooking like it’s now a dirty word.

Haven’t bought her lines in years but I do like some pieces of the recent Late Afternoon line needtime2scrap linked. Still surprised AC keeps designers around like AT who have distanced themselves from scrapbooking like it’s now a dirty word. Somehow her AC name/brand has been enduringly popular. I don't know what it is because her stuff seems so garish to me, and random. And I know she doesn't really design it (and more than any of them do) and last I saw she didn't really use it much either, although like you I jumped ship for good around the point of the popsicles so maybe that's changed. There must be something about the aesthetic linked to her brand that makes people buy. I suspect she does better at big box stores, rather than with niche/high end folks (which is what I think we are mostly here). Maybe people love bright, fun, random motifs. I'm thinking it's much more popular with the planner/TN crowd and that they buy a lot more than scrappers do. I find it quite perplexing that she's still an AC darling and Shimelle, who scraps her heart out with her products twice a week without fail, is not.

I had no idea that Amy hosted a podcast until Victoria Marie was on it about a week ago. I'm a big VM fan and I thought it was a very thoughtful discussion.

I LOVED AT’s Plus One. It’s been downhill from there for me, sadly.

I picked mine up here (Canadian store) treasuredmemories.ca/collections/late-afternoonI love Amy Tangerine items, as well as Maggie Holmes, Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper etc... as in items that are super hard to find in Canada. Thank you for sharing the link, however, at the same time, I will not pay $1.45 for one sheet of paper... and then $7 for some embellishments. I get it, that shipping to Canada from the US etc... is expensive, but it's reached a point where some stores are selling one piece of 12x12 chipboard embellishments for $10+... although I have reached my saturation point with scrappy stuff, I will not only buy something if it is on sale. Oh, just had to edit to say, $8.75 for a package of thickers... and it's not only this store, but all across Canada, these are the prices for a pack of thickers... when you add tax, that comes out to $9.88, LOL... I remember when I used to buy thickers for $3... It's just a bit too much. I'm just going to shop from my stash from now on.

Honestly, I still do like some Amy Tan stuff...mostly embellishments. I have to REALLY like a paper pack. That said, I wait until I can get it at Tuesday Morning for cheap.

Are prices higher in Canada for scrapbook supplies? Sure, my personal scrappy purchases have been cut drastically in the last 5 years for various reasons. The thing is if I order from the USA I have to pay the crazy exchange rate plus shipping (no discounts for shipping to Canada ever!) and I have to wait for weeks to get my order. If I buy a piece of paper for $1 at an online US store by the time I factor in exchange its $1.75 or more. Shipping is never less than $14 for 12x12 papers, which works out to almost $20 Canadian. Here I stick to my budget and only order at most 3 or 4 times per year. I'm actually better off shopping Canadian. Plus there aren't many scrapbooking stores left, I support where I can, within my budget plus their shipping is super fast, I had my order in 2 days.

I use to love Amy Tan when I first started PL and got back into scrapbooking around 2012/2013 too. I haven't liked one of her collection in ages but I picked up some of the embellishments from "Picnic In the Park". I ended up really loved the fun colors they added to my spring pages. I'm planning to grab some of the Late Afternoon too. A little of her stuff goes a long way, but I enjoyed the fun/whimsical vibe it added to my (mostly digital these days) pages.

I LOVED AT’s Plus One. It’s been downhill from there for me, sadly. Same here!! It was one of my all time favorite collections. I was a big fan for a while and she was one of the main reasons I went to the Bella Blvd She Loves Color event a few years ago but like many of you I got turned off by the constant sponsored posts. I try to limit my overall shopping but when I do, I still pick up a couple of sheets from her current collection. There's usually a good striped paper and I generally like the colors.

needtime2scrap I also ordered the whole line from that same store. I am so excited to get it and play with the goodies. The deep, rich colours look really beautiful. I agree that the price of scrap supplies, as with many other things, are much higher in Canada. It's a fact of our Canadian dollar. I'm happy to have a LSS to support as my budget allows, and, as mentioned, not having to pay shipping or exchange makes all the difference. It's not cheaper for me to shop across the border, so I would reserve that for a "must have" item I couldn't get locally.

I can make the embellishments work with other paper lines. The paper I really really need to have a project for before I buy it anymore.

I'm curious if anyone took the class and, if so, how it was! I took a class with her a few years ago. She was an absolute delight. Friendly, engaging, happy to take pictures with everyone. Her content was well prepared...we received way more than enough supplies to complete the projects she planned and there were written instructions to go along with the presentation. I wouldn’t hesitate to go to another one.

She is really a great person. I've chatted online (via Instagram DM) many times about random things and she is very engaging and just downright friendly. I wasn't really a huge fan of her style but now I'm starting to turn around and like all the bright colors. I listened to her Victoria Marie podcast and thought it was a great interview. She did a great job steering the questions and if she's editing it herself she's doing a great job with that too.

Another Amy fan girl here! I took a TN class from her in person, and found her to be very genuine and charming. Her creative process is so inspiring. As a teacher she is supportive and enthusiastic. I felt like I was part of something really special, and wouldn’t hesitate to take a class from her again.

So I did buy the class. It was a bit more expensive than I would normally pay but I feel like the content will be worth it. I did the kit add-on too so hopefully it will all be worth it.
