Post visit edit: sale not worth it, but a visit to the store always is!
PDX peas--SCRAP Portland is having a scrapbooking sidewalk sale tomorrow, Friday, August 14 10am - 6 pm. If you're not familiar with it, it's a creative reuse store (think thrift store for arts/crafts/office), stocked by donations, so you never know what you will find.
From their email: Fill a bag $5--small stamps, stickers, embellishments 8.5 x 11 paper--$2.50 per inch 12 x 12 paper--$5.00 per inch Buy $5 shopping card at garage entrance (they will not accept cash)

I wish I had a store like that to go to once in a while. They are such a treasure hunt, especially if you have time to dig. I have found the most unexpected things! Let me know if you're ever in Portland and I will take you! 😊

I have today off but have an appointment in a couple hours now Oh, too bad 🙁 Due to my work schedule, this is the first one I've been able to attend. I dont know how far you have to drive, but they have a sale every Friday this summer. I'm heading off now, but I can post the other sale "themes" when I get home.

I need to sign up for their emails -- I live in Salem and had today off too but had other things. I hate digging and hunting for clothes, but scrap supplies are something completely different. Come back and share your haul! 😀😀

I'm poking around now and my assessment--the store is always worth a visit, but the scrapbooking sidewalk sale is NOT! Only two bins of paper in the sale, looks like it's mostly ripped from pads and old school thin stuff.
In the non-sale section, someone donated a bunch of old kits (Heartstrings? They're in bags labeled "Quick Quotes") from the early 2000's. Making Memories with metal embellishments, etc.
Currently rummaging through the postage stamps.

I was sorry to have missed it today, but I guess I shouldn’t be! Their scrap section is s usually pretty good, bummer the sale wasn’t. Thanks for reporting thought, , hope you found something that made the trip and parking worthwhile.

Thanks for reporting thought, , hope you found something that made the trip and parking worthwhile. As always, I found good stuff, just not at the sale 😊 I found a lot of cool old postage stamps (including "First Man on the Moon" and vintage playing cards, which I like to use on layouts. I also bought dollar sign brass charms (they had two tubs full of a variety on the counter), keychain photo viewer thingies (you can stick in your own photo), dog show and gymnastics prize ribbons, some old Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey paper, loose binder rings of various sizes to use for swatches and some other doodads. My husband was excited to find unopened packages of shredder lubricant sheets for 50 cents (he loves shredding and bargains!), brand new boxes of ring reinforcements and cushioned mailers.

The next two sales are: 8/21 office and school supplies 8/28 craft books, magazines and party supplies
Based on what they put out for the scrapbook sale, the sale items are only a small part of the inventory. I wouldn't make a special trip for a sale if you don't live nearby; however, the everyday prices are a steal and they are well stocked as usual.
Their process now is: go to the rollup garage door and using a credit/debit card, pay $5. They will take your name and an email or phone number for contact tracing. They ask you to wear a mask, apply hand sanitizer before entering and limit your visit to an hour. They will give you a knitting needle to rummage through things if you like.
When you go to pay, they will apply the $5 you paid to your purchase or you can make it a donation. You can also pay by card.
