Bill Kristol....
”Sen. Johnson welcomes foreign interference; Trump donor running post office makes it harder to vote; Trump embraces crackpot theory to challenge Sen. Harris's citizenship; RNC will call legitimacy of election results into question. Does the GOP believe in free and fair elections?”
I call voter suppression cheating. That is why I’m using the word cheating.
Does trump and the Republicans in Congress have any plans to help the American People recover from this pandemic other than tax cuts for the rich? If they do, they sure are not sharing them.
Maybe they are secret plans that they will reveal after they are re-elected. Kind of like trump’s secret plan to fight ISIS that he didn’t want to reveal until after he was elected president because he didn’t want anyone to steal it from him. Remember that?
The Democrats on the other hand have all kind of plans for just about everything. Granted some of their plans are “pie in the sky” plans. But at least you know they are giving serious though about what needs to be done.
But I honestly don’t what the Republicans stand for anymore. Do you?

In a word....NOPE.
They are the worst at gerrymandering, voter suppression, purging voter rolls, lying about fraud, getting caught being fraudulent.
So nope. They cannot win without cheating.

To the two who have answered “hell yes”. If you believe the Republicans can win without cheating then why is this happening?
Sahil Kapur....
”VICE: “The United States Postal Service is removing mail sorting machines from facilities around the country without any official explanation or reason given… In many cases, these are the same machines that would be tasked with sorting ballots.”
Keep in mind, these changes, supposedly to “fix” the problems at the Post Office, are being put into place by the new Post Office General Who happens to be a big trump donor.
Seriously how is removing the sorting machines going to fix the problems plaguing the Post Office?

As the poll only stated elections - I answered hell yes as the only way one could believe Republicans can't win elections is if you're utterly oblivious to how huge swaths of America vote. Now if you had asked if Trump could win without cheating my answer would be different. But there are many many elections where there isn't even a Democrat on the ballot as it isn't worth their time - just like there are many elections where there is no Republican. My county had to beg a Republican to run for county commissioner as literally no one filed as the chance of them winning is exactly zero.

It certainly doesn't appear so, does it?

"Here's exactly what he said: "They want $3.5 billion for something that will turn out to be fraudulent, that's election money basically. They want $3.5 trillion -- billion dollars for the mail-in votes, OK, universal mail-in ballots, $3.5 trillion. They want $25 billion, billion, for the Post Office. Now they need that money in order to have the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots... " ... Now, if we don't make a deal, that means they don't get the money. That means they can't have universal mail-in voting, they just can't have it. So, you know, sort of a crazy thing. Very interesting." Let's be very, very clear about what Trump is saying here. 1) Democrats want funding in a coronavirus relief bill for the Postal Service. 2) They want that money so that the USPS can adequately deal with what is expected to be a major surge in mail-in and absentee balloting due to concerns about in-person voting spreading Covid-19. 3) Trump refuses to give them that money -- or include it in any sort of deal -- because, without it, there won't be the ability for the people to cast more mail-in ballots, or -- and this is really important -- for election officials to effectively count them all. So, yeah. (And that's putting aside the fact that in blocking the coronavirus bill because of the money allotted for the Postal Service, the President is blocking a whole lot of other things, including increased education funding and rent/mortgage assistance, that many people in the country badly need.) This is the President of the United States purposely trying to make it harder for votes to be counted. Why? Because he believes that mail-in balloting is ripe for fraud.... In one, Loyola Law School professor Justin Levitt tracked US elections from 2000 to 2014 in search of voter fraud, or, as he put it, "specific, credible allegation that someone may have pretended to be someone else at the polls." How many examples did he find? Exactly 31 -- out of more than 1 billion instances. 31! (That's an infinitesimally small number). That's not to say that each of those 31 instances of attempted voter fraud isn't worth an investigation. We don't want any voter fraud. But it is to say that 31 instances out of more than 1 billion is nothing anywhere close to widespread voter fraud." www.cnn.com/2020/08/13/politics/donald-trump-mail-in-ballots-2020/index.html

The key is that they do not think they can win fairly. It is not worth the risk for them at this point!

The cheating just smacks of desperation and fear.

Schooley....
”It's amazing how quickly "the President is going to cheat to win" is just normalized as a factor we must all work around because the system itself is far too corrupted to stop him.”
Bill Kristol response..
”Well, the system has resisted to a degree. But since every Congressional Republican but one voted against impeachment or conviction, Trump has been off to the authoritarian races. If one of the two major parties is utterly prostrate, the ability to stop the president is limited.”

They probably could with honorable viable candidates with good platforms. Trouble is that they know they do NOT have those candidates.

Back when I was a dumb-dumb who tried to seriously argue with people on the internet, I got into a protracted fight with someone’s husband. He was a conservative Christian Republican, and he genuinely, sincerely, unironically thought that he should get two votes because he had been in the military and that Democrats could only win elections because, unfairly, people like him didn’t get two votes.
It’s been a lot of years now of false claims of voter fraud while ignoring real cases of voter suppression, and it has been a partisan effort.
Anyhow, I have no idea if Republicans can win this presidential election without cheating, but I will tell you this — the party sure isn’t acting like it thinks it can.
