Many peas have expressed an interest in virtual crops. And now that msliz Saturday night crops have come to an end, and after a conversation with gramma , I thought I would take a poll and see what times and days would work best for those interested in joining a virtual crop. If you have thought about joining in, please don't be camera shy, they are so fun and it's great getting to know each other better! I'm open to hosting 4 crops a month, and also looking for people that would like to fill in or host on a regular basis as well. ETA: All times are CST, but I can also tweak them a little to accommodate the majority.

This fall, I can fill in as a Sat or Sun mid day host only occasionally, when my weather is predicted to be bad.
I'll have much broader availability after winter arrives.
ETA: joyfulnana, fyi, you're not going to get anyone replying to the hosting question in the survey. We can only choose one box, so I'm guessing Peas will do what I did and choose a time instead of answering the hosting question.

I have only been able to make it to one, but really really enjoyed myself.Sundays are better for me, but I do work 2 sundays a month so it is not something I can commit to on a weekly basis.
I do have days off during the week, and would like to learn how to host some during the week, if anyone might be interested in that?

I like to have time to scrap midweek and again once on the weekend.

I had thought about a weeknight too, but I work until 7 and wouldn't want to commit to hosting on a weeknight but would totally pop in sometimes if there was a crop going on. teacherlisa starting a hangout to host is easy and I would be happy to help you if you have questions! I should add not looking for a commitment necessarily but trying to find a time that works best for more people The more the merrier is definitely true when cropping

These virtual crops have been a blessing for me. We are all restricted by "social distancing" these days and I've felt really isolated. Seeing and chatting with peas on the virtual crops is great. And you don't have to crop. You can simply log in a chat.

I like the time for Sunday because I do not get up early on Sunday morning. Saturday I try to have a social life. But I'm dating a new guy that only has Sunday and Monday off so I might have to change my answer to Saturday.

Unfortunately the time difference makes things difficult. When it's Sunday in the US it's already Monday here and mid-morning EDT works out to about 3am in New Zealand. A Saturday 3-7 would be possible once in a while as that's a Sunday morning about 7-11am for me.

I have learned more about the Peas and have been given great scrapping advice. I love being able to just ask someone how they did a technique and getting a one on one explanation. ETA: I would be happy to help host on Sat, but I only have an ipad. I think I would need a camera on my desktop, wouldn't I? I think someone had trouble starting it with an ipad.

They have been good for me too. Especially hosting, it makes me show up to craft, when I would find every excuse to not to. nylene, I start my sessions with an ipad. I just mostly need someone to fill in if needed, or if someone wants to do pop ups, that would be great too!

I have really enjoyed the virtual crops. Thanks, msliz for keeping them going all summer and joyfulnana for taking on organizing them going into the fall. I am happy with whenever you plan them and will join in whenever I can. If dd and dgs are here on the weekend, it makes it difficult for me to join in, but as I said, I will sign on when I can. If no one is here the Saturday afternoon one is probably best for me, so that is the one I checked. It would be really cool if some people from NZ &/or AUS could join us on their Sunday morning! I have the most energy for scrapping in the mornings, often weekday mornings, but I realize that isn't an option for most.

joyfulnana, if you can walk me through starting the group on an ipad, I could fill in on Sat. if you need help. Our online Church is the same time as the Sunday Hangouts so that won't work for me. Just let me know.

I have LOVED the virtual cropping. I find the Saturday afternoon harder because we are usually at our busiest then, so I voted for the Saturday evening. However, I would try and get to whichever are best for the most peas. I also am willing to host - feel free to tell me of any hosting needs and I'll see if I can make it work here!

I've never done it before but would love to try a virtual crop. Can someone just give me a basic run down of what it is, like pretend your talking to the dumbest person you've ever met. LOL
I'm still trying to figure out what a blog hop is and how you do it. hahha My dd says I'm technology challenged.

We are going to completely virtual school starting in September so I would LOVE to make one or two of these! I will have limited time during the week but Wednesdays are the very short day so I could attend one of those mid morning EST. I think Sundays would be best as we are going to try to get more hiking/outdoor distanced activities in when these temps calm down!

LOL I'm still trying to figure out what a blog hop is and how you do it. hahha My dd says I'm technology challenged. We've been using Google Hangouts for our crops because it's free and fairly easy to use. You have to have a Google account, and you have to be signed in to it. The host will post a link here on the board, and you click on it. You'll be asked to enable your camera and microphone, and then you can click to join the video call. We say hello, what are you working on, chit chat, a little grumbling when something is glued down crooked, and often there's a cat. I hope you'll join us! A blog hop is visiting one blog after another on a list and participating in projects, contests, etc., and you leave a nice comment behind. It's just a nice way for bloggers to increase traffic to their sites and potentially to their stores.

With the time difference the Saturday evening ones are always my Saturday afternoons/early evenings so it's been more difficult trying to make it work but when I have joined (and have not had problems connecting!) they've been a lot of fun.

I keep meaning to join in when I can get up early enough to make one of these sessions, although there is a high likelihood you'll hear my DH in the background.

I would love to join too. Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon works best for me if these times are based on EST. I need to get more scrapping done.

I've edited the OP to include the time zone oops. I'm CST. But I'm also open to tweaking those hours so it works for the majority. Holding these crops on Sunday morning has been so good for me. I've got a committed time to scrap, and I have to stick to it. Plus I get to chat with other peas. Win-Win! Of course, anyone interested can always open a pop up crop. I love the idea of a weekday, but I can't join in because of my pesky job

As a retiree, weekends mean nothing to me, but my dd & dgs are often here on weekends when she is free from work and he does not have school commitments. Since we are actually giving her a break from single parenting a hyper active 7 year old, those days are busy--and hyper active LOL.
I could sub in either time on a weekend when we are alone here at the farm.

I don't know that which day matters quite so much, as it's having the time commitment scheduled. But afternoons whether on Saturday or Sunday are a lot easier to make fit my schedule on the weekend right now. I have thought about alternating. One week on Saturday, the next week Sunday. But then I would have to keep track of which week I'm on LOL!
