So, I feel most comfortable while sitting in my desk chair with my left foot under my right thigh. Kind of half cross legged. Does that make sense? My right foot is on the floor, but my left leg is bent.
Well, my knee hurts, but I find myself continuing to sitting like this. I wonder if I need a better chair? I'm also short, so maybe I need to grow?

Yep. Only I prefer my right knee bent. My favorite way to sit for work is "crisscross applesauce" (or whatever they're calling it these days when you sit cross-legged), but since March, I haven't had a chair that would accommodate that a home (new one is coming via UPS today, I'm hoping it will work).

I sit full-on cross-legged.

I do and swap legs. I'm 6' tall so it's not because I'm short:) When I got my office chair eons ago, I ordered an executive chair with no arms so I could do this!

I do left knee, right thigh. Probably killing my hip alignment along with my knee.

I have a little footstool. Sometimes I cross my ankle. But I have joint issues, so I couldn't sit with one leg full-on bent. Once in a great while I sit on the couch with both legs bent to one side, and I always regret it.

I always start sitting on the couch like that. I often sit at my desk like that. I only do right leg under, left one feels wierd.

I sat like that for many, many years at my work desk. Probably from age 28 to 48. I now have a ton of vericose veins on the back of my right thigh. My doctor said it’s probably the way I sit and to stop it. I could not stop. When we moved from one office to another, my new expensive work chair had a weird hard upward curl on the outer leg edges. That finally stopped me from sitting this way.

Same here with my office chair! I switch legs, though — I’m not picky about which one is folded.
On my couch, I sit pretty much every which way, though.

Similar... but my foot is under my butt, not my thigh. DH thinks I’m crazy to find it comfortable.

Doing exactly that at the moment (except opposite leg). Sometimes it hurts my knee and I stop for a few days...

I do that too, except opposite leg. I also do it when I'm in a restaurant booth (remember those? ) It helps me sit up taller when the table is too high. Probably not proper, but it works.

I can no longer get my left leg bent enough to put on socks or tie shoe laces, so my eyes are watering at the thought of even trying to sit like that!

I had no idea that I apparently sit "normal" since so many pea's sit that way too. Lol!!
I'm in that position most of the day at work but I do alternate which leg is bent about every hour or as needed. Which ever leg is down is propped on a footstool. My feet don't really touch the floor anyway, but sitting like I do makes my foot even that much further off the floor. (I'm 4'11")

I used to sit like that sometimes but my foot always fell asleep, so yeah, didn't last long.
I'm always envious of those who can sit with their legs all criss crossed, or under them. My legs are long (and now fat) but I was never able to do that. And I was envious of those who can sit and swing their legs. Very few places where leg swinging is available.

Always, but now I'm finding it takes me a little longer to "unwind" from the position so I'm working on keeping both feet on the floor. I'm sure it would be much better for my left knee, which has a torn meniscus anyway.

I sit like that too, even when I am passengering in cars. Otherwise my leg won’t be still I and I drive everyone nuts with my wiggling. I have a hard time just sitting so for whatever reason that position soothes me. This is why I have a standing craft desk and I use the kids wiggle stools at school.

All the time, whenever possible! I am short, my legs barely touch the floor when I sit in a chair. It is so much more comfortable for me than having my legs dangling.

Me! I can't sit at my desk unless I sit exactly like that. Not great since I'm at work 9 hours a day but I've been doing it for 30+ years, lol.

Yup. I switch legs, though. And now I make a loud “oof” noise when it’s time to unfold after I’ve been seated that way for too long.

In my office chair, I sit with my legs tucked underneath and wrapped around the leg of the chair. It is NOT good for my circulation and I constantly have to remind myself to untuck my legs. On the couch or my big chair, I'm a right leg tuck under gal.

I sit like that all the time. It's hard to remember not to, when that is the way I'm most comfortable. On the couch, I tend to sit criss cross applesauce (LOL).
