I used to sit like that sometimes but my foot always fell asleep, so yeah, didn't last long. I'm always envious of those who can sit with their legs all criss crossed, or under them. My legs are long (and now fat) but I was never able to do that. And I was envious of those who can sit and swing their legs. Very few places where leg swinging is available. I love being able to swing my legs. I went to a playground park two Christmases ago with my nibblings, and I spent a lot of time on the swing because they had one that I had to hop up to even reach. It was glorious. My legs are also long, and I tend to fold them up to fit in tight spaces. I guess it sorta stuck. I can wear my husband's 32" long pants. I'm 5'7" so I'm all legs and boobs. I try not to do it because I'm very loose jointed (Ehlers-Danlos) and regret sitting in weird positions as a kid. Having a reclining sofa and bed really helps. It's also so much better for my back. I also try not to sit that way in the car because I don't want to break my leg/knee/hip/pelvis if I was in a car accident and my crossed leg got pushed up into my hips. I often wake up to find that I've crossed my legs like that in my sleep. My husband says I sleep like a flamingo. 4

Similar... but my foot is under my butt, not my thigh. DH thinks I’m crazy to find it comfortable. Me too.

I do. I’m short and my feet don’t touch the floor in most chairs. This is more comfortable than having both legs dangling.

The only time I can sit with both feet on the floor is at my desk at work--the chair is too tall for me to sit with a leg up under the other and still fit under the desk. Surprisingly it doesn't bother me there. Even when driving I have a hard time leaving my left foot on the floor, usually I prop it up on the side somehow (even just an inch up feels better). Here at my scrappy desk I often sit with one leg under the other, but I also sit criss-cross applesauce too. I hate going to movies or having to sit anywhere without some sort of foot rest.
