Canon is home!! He's extremely weak, as in he can't even jump up in his favorite spots on the couch. We're so very happy to have him home, even if he still looks so sad (what my girls say). He'll be on meds for a month and in that time, we need to keep him calm, quiet, and resting. He has to go back frequently for bloodwork until his platelet count gets back to the normal range. I can't wait until he's acting more like himself. Thank you all for the well wishes/good thoughts over the last couple of days. Night 1 at the vet Night #2 at the vet This is how he rode home - didn't move at all, which is unusual. And resting on his bed once he got home.

oh, I'm so glad he's home! I hope his recovery continues on the same path. eta: he does look like he just doesn't feel well, doesn't he? not sure I'd go with sad... but he'd definitely be getting lots of extra skritches and kisses, if it was my pup! (eta2: and I'm sure he is, from all of you!! )

Poor little guy, he looks so sad. It's hard that we can't communicate with them so he could know the what/why of what is happening to him. Hope he feels better each day that passes.

I’m so happy he’s home!! Being home will help him a lot. He does look pretty sad. How long does he have to wear the cone? Getting that off will help his mood too, even if it is just for short periods when you can keep an eye on him
Sending him lots of feel better vibes.

Poor baby! They do manage to look so very sorry for themselves, don't they! Our boy had an op on a paw and his teeth cleaned under general anesthetic at the beginning of the year and it took about 3 days for him to stop with the sad face! I hope Canon picks up very soon.

Thankfully he doesn't have to have the cone here at home. He had it on when he was there because they had an IV in his front leg and didn't want him to mess with it.

So glad he is home! Hopefully he will feel better soon. Vet visits are no fun under the best of circumstances, poor guy went through a lot. I bet in the next couple days he will feel better and be more smiley then he is in those pictures.,
He sure is a handsome boy!

So glad to hear that Canon is home. I’m sure he’s much happier there than at the vets.

Hope he recovers quickly.
The cone of shame always make them look sad, embarrassed, pouty, or a combination of not normal looking emotions.

Thankfully he doesn't have the cone here at home. But he's still looking pretty sad. I know it's because he's still so wiped out. They said his platelet count (by their machines) was 0 when they did the initial tests. They sent his blood out for more in depth tests and it was above 0 but not even close to the 30,000+ they want to see.

Welcome home sweet Canon! Is he your sato? He's a beautiful boy. No, he's a Canine Commitment of New England rescued from Mississippi. Starsky our old man at 12.5 years old, is my Sato. He's had his share of issues over the last year or so. Super bad ear infection and then he tore his knee tendons/ligaments all up. Because of his age, we opted out of surgery and he just has a bum knee now.
