When you do these albums, do you pre number the pages, thus making sure you have a page per day? Or do you sometimes do more than 1 page per day, and so number as you go along? I am just thinking that if I do the October Daily, there is going to be probably more than one page per day, as some of the events (DS bday) will warrant that. Guess I am just thinking how to organize these, as I will need to order pages, ect...I plan on using a CM 7x7 album. Thanks!

I don't pre-number as I don't make any pages before I've lived the day, but I always add the number somewhere on the page. The last few years I've done a double page spread per day, knowing that some days have a lot more photos, and others have one (or sometimes none). If there's a bigger event I'll add an insert like a transparency or a pocket.
I make my pages throughout Dec, usually spending a couple of nights working on it, so if I decided a day only needed a single page and the following day needed 3 pages I have the flexibility to do that. Christmas day, and Boxing day (when I include it) are always more than 2 pages.
I work in ring albums and have a stash of page protectors on hand to suit so I don't feel that I need to pre-plan as you probably have to. If I were in your position I'd write a list of the likely stories and how many pages you think you'll need for each of them to help guide my purchasing.

For me personally if I do any prep work at all, I’ll add a few things to the page protectors, which may or may not include numbers. I do generally know what numbers I plan to use, so I put those in my desktop organizer to keep handy. I don’t do anything permanent until I have the pictures or whatever I plan for that day.
I’ve also done years where I don’t plan ahead at all, and it works out the same for me. I go through my supplies enough times that I know which things I really want to try to work into my album.

When I've done DD, it was never strictly a daily thing. Mine stretched from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, and just documented events during that time.
I never numbered pages/days.
I also don't do my layouts until January, when I have my December photos printed. I just take photos and collect memorabilia during that time.

When I'm working with any kind of pocket page album, I find it impossible to pre-plan. So, I don't. Like you said, some sections are going to be fuller than others. And until you have the photos in hand, you're not going to know how you want to print them with regard to size or orientation. There are just too many factors.
There are still other things you could do though. If you want to do some prep for it, you could work on making filler cards, you could make a variety of free form embellishment clusters in different sizes, and you could start writing some of the stories about your holiday traditions.

My brain doesn't work with preplanning an album that uses pocket pages. I usually work on my album during the weekend and do the previous week. I have to know what's going to work for both sides of a PP before I can commit to doing the front side--especially with DD when I know I'm going to be pressed for space.

If you're okay with not having all your photos under page protectors, I would order fewer than what you think you'll need (so you won't be stuck with extra.) You can always just mount your extra photos to heavy cardstock pages. Make fun shapes and punch your own holes. Or make some of those flip pages or cascade thingies.
