No new YT video today but I wanted to take a poll to see what type of videos you all prefer. This info will help me with future videos. Thanks everyone!

I like seeing how people use new products, but I like it in the context of creating a layout.

I like seeing how people use new products, but I like it in the context of creating a layout. Exactly what I was going to type...show me how you use it!

I voted for new product tutorials. I already know how to scrapbook, but I might not know how to use some of the (less obvious) new products that come out.

I voted for layout tutorials, but my actual favorite is process videos. I don’t need a tutorial on how to make your layout. I enjoy hearing about and watching the process, how it came together and decisions made and why through the process.

Room tours and organizational videos are my favorite. I like process videos, too. Even though I don’t use it, I enjoy seeing others create layouts with mixed media.

I voted variety, but what I mean by that is variety within each video, regardless of the topic. For example, I like room tours so I can see lots of different organizational ideas. I like album shares so I can see all the pages in the book in one go. In a product tutorial, I want to see 5 ideas for how to use it rather than just one.
A youtuber I used to watch had a "10 cards from one kit" using different techniques, and I enjoyed them even though I don't even make cards.
For layout shares I go to Instagram. When I make time for a video, I want to see more.
ETA, have you ever filmed yourself when you're painting? Or set your camera to take a still photo every minute to record the progress? I enjoy watching longer term projects coming into being in fast-forward.

I really like process videos - I like watching people pull their pages together, talk about the pictures, their product choices and design decisions.

I don’t tend to watch much about new products because I’m trying to save money and I don’t need any extra temptation. I like process videos or even layout shares where people describe their decisions. And organizing and room tours are good too.

For me it’s unboxing/new kit reveals, hauls, room tours and organisation.

I picked scrapbook layout tutorials.
But I'd like to add, ones that use tools many scrappers are likely to already own.
I can substitute any paper I have for any paper recommendations a Youtuber makes.
I love when a YTer shows me innovation ways to use a punch I already have.

Definitely a layout. I like the new stuff, but I have got to use up my old stuff!

I like process videos and I especially like it when it’s not a voiceover ( which I know is not always possible ) But I like chatty process videos

I do like organization videos, too. I have gotten a lot of container tips from YT vids as well as ideas on how to store things.

I don’t watch a ton of videos because I have a short attention span and so many I have tried to watch take several minutes to even get to the point of what is happening. I don’t need to see the packaging your tool came in. I sure as heck don’t need or want to see how it was shipped and watch you slowly take it out of the shipping box first. I don’t need to know how a punch works, just show me a new way use the darn thing. I don’t need a physics lesson.
I like videos that show me something new or a new way to use something I already have. I like videos that are quick and to the point. If you are showing a layout video I like to see the finished layout first, just a quick look, to see if the video would something I want to watch.
I love an organization video, but shorter videos with specific items would be great. I don’t want to watch a feature film length video to just see how you organize one item. Maybe have one about mixed media storage, one for papers, one for tools, one for embellishments, etc.
Your videos are great! I love in the spray and stamp one that you got right to it, you didn’t make us watch you cover your surface with newspaper or fetch the plate you used for paint. I like how you reminded us to shake the spray, but didn’t lecture about it. I love how you showed the layouts first to give us a quick sneak.
Your videos I enjoy. They are a nice combo of tutorial and review.

They are a nice combo of tutorial and review. Along the lines of what I don’t like or turn off or isn’t helpful: Craft room tours that go on & on & on opening every drawer including 6 identical drawers of the same thing. Craft room tours where the family interrupts multiple times. ( edit people, edit is your friend ) Craft room tours where they show super unique storage solutions that can’t be replicated at all. And they know this when they do the video & are smug about it. Craft room tours were my background sound while I worked from home during lockdown but some are even too annoying for background noise. I like quick tours and or several videos each of one storage solution. Kelly I like how you break down your tutorial videos into useable segments. You get right to the parts I want to see. I liked your favorite product videos because I liked your chatty style.
