It depends on my project.
If I need heat transfer vinyl (HTV, such as for t-shirts), I prefer Siser. I haven’t checked recently, but Michaels has been carrying it, at least prior to COVID. When I needed a large quantity of one color, I ordered it from Heat Press Nation because I got a better price. I was making family t-shirts for a trip to Disney World.
For applying to ceramic tiles or wood, I use Oracal permanent vinyl. For wall application, Oracal temporary is best. I can’t remember if Michaels carries it. I usually get it from Vinyl Outlet in Salt Lake City when I visit my daughter. I think you can order it from them online, too. They also sell HTV in a variety of colors.
I can’t remember is Cricut changed to Oracal. I think they did. At any rate, their vinyl is still better than Silhouette’s, at least the last time I checked.
I have also used the American Crafts vinyl that I found at Tuesday Morning. It worked better than I expected.
