anything bland - toast (no butter), rice, a banana.
Do you have ginger tea? Or ginger ale? Let it go flat before you drink it.

For me, a bland combo of crunchy/creamy usually works — when I have been pregnant, crackers with tofu cream cheese, eg.

I swear by an old Vietnamese trick that one of my dear friends taught me years ago. Drink equal parts (1/2 cup) of water as hot as you can stand it followed by cold water. It works most of the time.

Personally I wouldn't eat anything. If your stomach is threatening to blow then it's warning you that it isn't happy and needs a rest from food. I would stick to drinking plenty of sips of body-temperature water to limit the irritation until you feel better. Listen to your body, don't try to fool it!
I hope you feel better soon.

Anything ginger.
Charcoal pills help with nausea too.

Another vote for ginger. Peppermint candy sometimes helps.

If I’m nauseated, a plain baked potato with a little salt (or butter, if you can handle it) is the best thing in the world.

Plain fish crackers. They are small so it doesn't seem hard to eat one.
If you are not throwing up, Idahoan instant mashed potatoes butter or plain flavor if you happen to have those on hand. We also love plain spaghetti with a little butter. Applesauce or jello also might sound good.

Hope you feel better!!!
I'd also keep it limited and VERY bland!! When you're up to it, try dry toast. Keep hydrated eventually!!
(Watching this thread because DH is constantly thirsty--post surgery--and asking me for Dr. Pepper-he's diabetic! Just found out that him having sugar would actually slow down his healing! He hates the sugar-free soda, and everything I've offered seems gross to him!).

A lot of people swear by coca cola syrup/flat Coke, but the very idea makes me want to vomit right now. It might work for you.
I give my patients ginger ale and saltines if they can tolerate it.
A BRAT diet is sometimes recommended (bananas, applesauce, rice, and toast).
The last time I finished a round of antibiotics I could only tolerate Gatorade, baked potatoes, rice, and toast. I lost 10 lbs but found it again. :/

How funny - for me it's carbonation! I drink a diet coke when I'm nauseous - only time I drink diet coke anymore.

When kids were little their pediatrician recommended no food or water for at least 2 hours after vomiting. Putting food on an upset stomach can keep the cycle going.
After that try the BRAT diet. Banana, rice, apple, and toast. Ginger ale 7Up, or tea.

Tums. I start with 2, and decide how that goes from there. Then I’d move to a few dry saltines. Otherwise I don’t eat when I don’t feel good, in fear of throwing up.
Usually the tums work enough.

Toast. I ate SO much toast when I was pregnant and nauseated 24/7.

For me peppermint tea usually helps with that feeling of an upset stomach or that feeling of nausea.
I don't drink soda or like the ingredients in it (there's really not much real ginger in ginger ale). Ginger is known to help with nausea as is peppermint. You can make your own ginger tea from fresh ginger that I think would probably be more effective than ginger ale, unless it's the carbonation that is helping. To make it take a fresh piece of ginger about an inch long (per cup of tea) and you don't even have to peel it-just scrub it to get the dirt etc. off of it. Then slice it and place it in a pot with one cup of water per serving. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes. Strain with a fine sieve to catch all of the ginger. Add some honey or sugar if you wish.
Of course you can buy ginger tea in the tea section of your grocery store but it's so simple to make and ginger is inexpensive-plus you get the full strength of the ginger if you make it from scratch.
I hope you feel better soon!

I save the syrup from when I make candied ginger. A spoonful or two of that usually does the trick for me.
