Coming out of my reading and not inertacting mode: Third gen Floridian here: back when I was a kid, the villages didn’t exist. It was acres and acres of orange groves. It was lovely ... then they paved paradise, put up a parking lot and filled it with people who bitch and complain about Florida. I’ll never forgive the developers for that. Please come out more often, I miss you here! |

Getting rid of social security and medicare (with a dash of COVID) is the first step towards fighting global climate change. If you can get enough of the people relying on these government programs to die sooner rather than later, you can cut down on the consumption of natural resources as a whole. As far as modest proposals go, it's not a bad one. Well, if you go all soylent green with the deceased, you cover the recycling aspect too.  |

Am I the only one who the more I learn about The Villages envision it as a fraternity house for affluent old people? Seriously who decorates a golf cart and parades around the neighborhood on it? Do you take a shot every time you cross a street? Does it end with a keg? Just seeing this thread now, so not sure if this has been posted yet, but there is a new doc out soon on The Villages and the trailer definitely depicts a Frat House vibe. Looks fascinating (and scary! )  Some Kind of Heaven |

I fully believe that after Trump is done with the Impeachment trial and goes back to holding adoration rallies, we will hear from Leone as soon as she attends one, or when the Villages holds its next Trump golf cart parade in support of their idol. |
