And I think I am completely hooked after one ride.
Any tips, tricks, or recommendations from veteran users?

Your butt will hurt for a while, but it will eventually feel better. Make sure you sit right back in the seat. Some people use a gel seat cover instead.
Start with some beginner or advanced beginner rides with all the different instructors to get the hang of it and find out which ones you like best.
Join the monthly challenges and receive badges when you reach goals and milestones.

If your seat is still bothering you after a couple of weeks consider going to a bike store (if/when safe) and have them measure your sitz bones to make sure that the seat is the right size for you. I did 100 rides before I got measured and it made a huge difference in my comfort!
Do the beginning/welcome to peloton series. It will expose you to different instructors and help you with the basics.
Try all of the instructors, at least a couple of times each, they are all so different and what one person may love may not be your cup of tea.
If you are interested in really tracking and improving your endurance and strength I would highly recommend the discover your power zones program under the Programs tab. There is a group called The Power Zone Pack that works with the power zone instructors (Denis, Matt, CDE/Christine, and Olivia) to make 6-8 week challenges that are all Power zone rides. I have been doing the challenges since last fall and have seen huge improvements.
There are tons of FB groups find your tribe - kind of like here!

I'm #craftymomof4. I am set to private but approve anyone to follow me, but I can't follow anyone else because I have hit my max of 2,000 from all the challenges I have done and groups I'm in.

Yay! Have fun!
Be very careful about holding too tightly to the handlebars. I'm dealing with tendonitis in one of my elbows because I didn't pay enough attention. Really hold them very lightly and focus on your core and glutes.
My favorite instructor is Sam Yo.

The seat definitely hurt my tush, but I’ll give it a few weeks to see if it is just that I am brand new.
I am SpinsRea on there, if anyone wants to add me (if you have posted in this thread, I have followed you now).

My favorite instructor is Sam Yo. He's wonderful! I got my bike a bit ago. My dh is knowledgeable about bicycles and adjusted the clip in/out foot thing on the bike. It is so much easier now. I NEVER thought I'd enjoy exercising, but omg, I have muscles in my legs now!

Buy a fan. A ceiling fan and a/c are not enough! The Vornado fan is most popular, i think. Take the time to watch Cristine's bike fitting video on her FB page. Here's a helpful chart for making adjustments

Yes, a Vornado fan made all the difference to me. I bought it at Costco for around $30.
I also love Sam Yo rides. He doesn’t get nearly enough love on Instagram as some of the other instructors but he’s a great instructor. I’ve been loving his 80s themed rides lately.

I just did my ride on my fauxolton (thanks to the pea who came up with that!) and he is delightful! The cool down ride I did with him was to Lionel Richie, which made me smile the whole time. And he made Star Wars references. I ❤️ him. I just got a small fan that attaches to the bike bars and it was a game changer! Even with the AC to subarctic temps ( my husband loves a cold house, I have to sit with a quilt when it is 90 degrees outside) I was sweating up a storm. I just got my fan Sunday and I am able to do longer rides because I don’t feel like I am going to faint from water loss.

I have had mine about two months. I started using it when it arrived and then really fell off the wagon. I just joined a couple of challenges so I'm working on trying to complete those. Just start out with the beginner classes and work from there. I am still trying new instructors. So far Alex Toussaint is my favorite I'm #jenniess if you want to follow me. I will add everyone on this thread.

Christine (or CDE as she is known) has a video on FB/Instagram on how to find the right settings for your seat and handlebars. It's worth finding. The Peloton FB page can be scary sometimes but you will find different groups that have formed that are an excellent source of info and support. I'm Tequilla_Trish if you want to follow.

I've only had my bike a couple months and my elbows are bothering me and I have a weak core. I've been trying to adjust the handlebars without much success and this would explain why.

Look for #peasquad. There’s a dozen or so peas that you can add. I’m somemadhope20.
I’d say for anyone starting out that the filter is your friend. Filter your favorite instructors, length of ride, type of music and even the easier rides. I find that if I like the music I’m much more motivated. Also I bookmark rides that are appealing to me so that when I hop on the bike I have a curated list to choose from.

I love his attitude, his music choices - and he just doesn't get the love. He's not trying to "build his brand" - he's just teaching, supporting, correcting form and being kind. He's my absolute favorite.

Maybe it's because they are UK instructors so different time zones?

I love all the British instructors - but I’m British so I might be biased!! Some of their classes are very early morning, but they have plenty at reasonable times. I took Ben’s live rock ride yesterday and I’m taking Sam’s 12:30 live ride today:)
