I hope I’m not going to upset anyone by doing this, but I am interested in the slimline cards that are suddenly resulting in new dies galore to buy. I just don’t want to purchase any slimline or mini slimline dies till I see how much I like these new card sizes. I don’t own any slimline or mini slimline dies yet, but I have made one slimline card. Yesterday I also just finished a mini slimline card. Someone associated with kat scrappiness offered a slimline card challenge, but it sounded rather exclusionary, so I decided to step on some toes and offer a similar challenge, open to everyone, regardless of what products you want to use. Just to be clear, I have nothing against kat or her products. You are certainly welcome to use and mention them in any cards you share here, but this challenge is also open to those who may use products from other companies. Below is my first slimline card. I made this one in May, using a Queen and Company sketch, dies, papers, and stamp (with a little additional help from my Cameo). I would love to see your slim and/or mini slimline cards, too. Please post them below if you want to share them. Edited to add: azcrafty had not posted her sheetload of cards yet when I started this post. Hers is a specific design to adapt. Consider mine a free-for-all do anything/use any products challenge to make a slimline card, or post one that you have already made but not shown here.

Love this!
Are there specific "slimline" dimensions?

Thank you, Linda, lovestocreate, and kendramage!
lovestocreate, your card is adorable!
kendramage, the finished card dimensions are 3.5 x 8.5 inches for the slimline, and 3.5 x 6 inches for the mini slimline cards.
Please keep those slimline cards coming. I am looking forward to seeing more of them.

I have a question, is slimline the shape/size of the card? Do you also make your own envelopes to fit the card?

I have a question, is slimline the shape/size of the card? Do you also make your own envelopes to fit the card? Slimline refers to the card shape/size. The regular slimline is 3.5 “ x 8.5” (or a bit more) for the finished card front. It fits into a standard #10 (letter/business) envelope. The mini slimline is 3.5” x 6” and fits the #6 3/4 envelopes. I have found both those sizes of envelopes at Walmart, although I would either decorate purchased envelopes or make my own.

Sorry to take so long. I promised a mini slimline. I did a trifold inspired by the Taylored Expressions mini slimline with layered windows. Theirs is square, though, and I made my window openings round. And this shows each part as the trifold is opened. Next time I will probably add more patterned paper on the inside sections, or more decoration.

I'm a fan of the slimline cards. I made a few this summer for my nephews and nieces. I'm hoping to make a few this weekend, if I do I'll upload them here.

Great cards - I'm working on 2 at the moment. I've got the paper all cut, but I can't decide what to put on them. They are fall cards. I don't want to just put a pile of pumpkins on it.

The Halloween trifold is super special. It really uses the extra height of a slimline card. Here is my slimline card. Thank you for posting the challenge!

I used the frame dies on other cards, but decided to use the cut out squares for this one.

These are my Sheetload Slimline cards. I'm not sure I really like this size. It leaves so much space for writing inside. Fall Fox Thinking of You scrapnnana, I love the slimline you made. That seahorse shaker is amazing. I love the stitched fishies and the other stitched nautical elements. Such a lovely card. Your Halloween half size slimline is fabulous. I love the 3 layers and your coloring is amazing. Wow, anyone would love to receive this cute card! azcrafty, I love the little critters on your slimline. Are those Stampin Up stamps. They are so bright and fun and very versatile. I giggled at the cotton candy. So clever. jjpeapea, those nautical stamps are amazing. I love the fine lines of them. The background paper couldn't be more perfect. Beautiful and classy card. grammadee, you have love in the gallery!

Thank you nylene. Love you cards. More ❤ in Flickr and the other tread. I like this size for some of my cards I feel like I can stamp a sentiment inside and still have plenty of room. You can always find an autumn poem and put that inside. Or stamp a border or a scene or use leftover paper to make the writing area smaller.

nylene, your foxy slimline cards are adorable. Your panels break up the length and add interest. Your patterned papers are a perfect choice, and the leaves are a lovely accent. Is the fox a cutting file or a stamp? May I ask where you got him? He is too cute!

I really like Doodlebug files because they don’t have a million pieces, but are cute and easy.
